STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Graduate study is a significant landmark in the eternal journey of education. With due reverence to the department and the university, I Aditi Ramteke pen down a "Statement of Purpose". This attempt is to present my credentials, achievements and my career goals for the future with a strong interest in the discipline of Information Technology.
In the todays Information Age, where everything is so competitive, it's so important to use advanced technology to stay ahead of the game. Be it a small grocery store or an established business, the correct information and the proper manner to use it wisely can make an organization to reach up to their goals. The clever application of technology and the intelligent approach to achieve success in business enthralls me. Being an Electronics and Telecommunication Engineer with more interest towards Communication Engineering, I aspire to be an entrepreneur of a communication firm. And to achieve my dream, Masters in Information Technology Management would work as a boon. It will not only make me learn new technologies beneficial in the management of an organization, but also I would assimilate business strategies. It would help me to head start my career with, initially working in an organization and learn the functioning and management of the firm for some years and later to start my own company. Thus, getting an ITM degree from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago would facilitate to hit the bullseye.

I am writing this Statement of Purpose to reinforce my admission to graduate school. My purpose for applying to Texas Tech University is to expand my existing knowledge and to create additional opportunities for myself in the future. I believe that the graduate school will prepare me for a successful and challenging career in Industrial Engineering with specialization in Operation Research and Engineering Management. My dream to be an expert in Industrial Engineering had not emerged with my early schooling.
The field of information systems has grown and become more promising than in previous years. This increase demands highly skilled professionals to keep up with the quickly changing world of IS. Looking for a job in the Information Systems field opens the door for many disciplines, each with its significance in the business world. Most businesses need information systems skills to accomplish their goals. There is a wide selection of career options in the field of information systems. There are the technical positions, such as dealing with information management and hardware and software management, and the people-oriented technology positions, such as dealing with the design and operation of Internet applications (“Why Major,” n.d.).
This was my first tryst with Information Management. For my undergraduate degree, I enrolled for the Bachelor of Engineering program in Computer Science at PVPIT, Pune. Here my understanding of computers expanded and there was much to learn in what seemed like a very short amount of time.
My reflexes in responding during class, ability to communicate my thoughts clearly and consistency in grades brought about appreciation from my teachers. The attributes of leadership, decision making and offering selfless help, I believe, made me the class representative at school. A top position in the school badminton and table tennis team boosted my confidence levels. I continued to chase my passion and my love towards computer science blossomed as I became familiar with the World Wide Web. The Internet and its applications made me live the role of a young scientist with a quenchless thirst for understanding logic. In this process, the passion turned into a lucrative career opportunity, as I aimed to secure admission into a prestigious undergraduate institution, expectant to endeavor the wisdom of computer science. Nowadays, There are so many emerging technologies and several companies need to develop technology to keep pace with each era. This era is called the golden age of technology, it is. Therefore, IT personnel are more important and more demanding in each year. The Faculty of ICT at Mahidol University where is wisdom place that produces highly efficient personnel. Bachelor of Science in Faculty of ICT from Mahidol University, it necessary to know the basic information in a faculty of ICT that student has to choose tracks, understand how to apply for internship and know the processes of the senior project.
A fascination for Science & Technology and keen interest in the ever-growing world of technology motivated me to take up engineering. The power of research and delivering it for the growth of Society is what makes me interested in the technology side of science. I choose to major Computer science Engineering with an intense urge to delve into this challenging field. During my under graduation program I learned the various fundamentals of Computer science Engineering which together with practical course works reinforced my interest.
I am currently employed as a Software Engineering Senior Analyst at Accenture. The Information system advances so rapidly that at times it is too difficult to keep up with it without proper knowledge and experience. While most of the people do get a relatively easy entry in the field after under graduation, it is very difficult to aim for a constant growth only on that basis. The field demands upgraded knowledge and experience for career growth and (achieve goals). And that is why I aspire, to pursue Masters in Management Information Systems at your esteemed University.
I develop and deliver technical solutions to collection of applications used by retail giants across the globe. My responsibilities have given me scenarios to put on my problem solving and interpersonal skills in real life situations. Frequent interactions with client aroused in me, an urge to get into a management consultant role. But, with time I realized that I have to upgrade my skill-sets and make myself more relevant and attractive to the job market. I also realized that I have to diversify my aspects of management such as leadership, entrepreneurship and finance etc. and Broad MBA will equip me with these skills and will increase chances of succeeding in my goals, manifold. After accomplishing virtuous knowledge of IT industry, I believe that Broad MBA program will help me learn more about business problems drawn from real-life scenarios and prepares me to take the next step toward career success. On joining the college, I concentrated on acquiring knowledge not only through the classroom teaching materials, but also through the volumes of Computer related materials. In the process I have acquired in-depth knowledge in the fields of Database Management Systems, Data Mining and Data Warehousing, Software Engineering especially in the concepts related to process organization and responsibilities. I was also fascinated by the growth of Networking and Communication Technology and developed keen interest in the subjects such as Computer Networks, Data Communications and Network Protocols. The Operating systems lab and Computer Networks lab unleashed a relentless desire in me to excel at its usage and find innovative applications.
Computers and Technology have fascinated me right from my childhood and I have always had it in my mind to choose Information Technology for my engineering. As the years passed my eagerness grew and so did my thirst to attain higher education and now is the perfect time for me to ignite the spark in me. This has given me the courage to analyze the fact that I have a herculean task ahead in order to comprehend an extensive proportion of subject and enjoy it while assimilating the problems.
Thanks to the mathematical background and the programming skills that I have combined with engineering approach I have gained, I strongly believe that I am sufficient to be a good candidate for TUM CSE. I have no doubt that TUM CSE will take me to an international level with its education system and strong relations with multinational companies. Therefore, it would be a privilege to be able to secure admission to pursue graduate studies at TUM CSE.
My strong curiosity towards the field of Cybersecurity dates back to my pre-university days when I started reading sci-fi novels. Digital Fortress, a techno-thriller novel written by Dan Brown, explored the theme of government surveillance, security and civil liberties. This theme is brought out in the book by portraying cryptographic techniques, security policies and implications of these policies. This gravitated me towards the field of security. With little programming experience, I was eager to begin my nascent adventure in the field of Cybersecurity. Although I’ve gained exposure in the field of security during the course of my Bachelor’s degree, I believe pursuing a master’s degree in Cybersecurity will allow me to explore the field of security in greater depth and utilize it effectively to address more real-world challenges.
My quest for knowledge and securing a position in class blossomed actually in my school, where I used to be among the top 3 students. The aspiration to learn about Electronics seconded by my decent XII std. Scores in science and 89% marks in Math, secured me a position in the Electronics And Telecommunication branch in Nuva College Of Engineering And Technology under the aegis of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University. Being in the foundation batch, I learned how to adjust with the scenario and understood what responsibilities we have towards college.
This perfectly holds true for me in the world of Computer Engineering where novel ideas are not a novelty. It is this novelty that entices me to this field and gives me a deep sense of professional pride. In this context, I would like to pursue my graduation in Computer Engineering, which not only supplements the knowledge that I possess but also provides a strong platform for my future career goals.
