Different companies around the world make a profit as the goal, and also advocate to fulfill their social responsibilities. One such example is Starbucks. Starbucks was founded in 1971, is the world's largest coffee chain. Today, it has more than 17,400 stores in sixty countries. It is active in the market as a socially and environmentally responsible superior international companies. At the same time it is important to improve their coffee farmers in the social and economic status, also try to reduce the environmental damage and impact. In order to effectively reduce the impact on the environment, Starbucks efforts focus on three environmental part, including coffee origin, tea and paper use, products and personnel transport, store design and mode of operation, such as electricity and water, waste recycling and treatment (Starbucks 2014). In 2010, Starbucks launched with cutlery and recycling of waste materials produced tumbler. They promote environmental protection. Moreover, customers who purchase a new series of tumbler, they can get a cup of free coffee, free for storage and on behalf of the customer for cleaning. Also, when customers bring back their tumbler to patronize, Starbucks will give $3 discount to them. In 2011, Starbucks were established green concept stores in Seattle and other places (Horovitz, Bruce 2010). They advocate the use of recycled wood to build tables, floors and ceilings. Stores will use renewable resources to retain existing design buildings. Furthermore, electricity and water consumption of green concept store will be more general stores save more than 30%. In terms of products, Starbucks cut the size of napkin and thickness of plastic bag. In addition, they use proprietary technology to produce new hot cup sets, so reducing the overall amount of material used. This technology will save nearly 100,000 trees (Targeted News Service 2012).
