Critical Issues 1. The Stake Public Affairs Council is a valuable tool for the stake leadership in outward communication of Church standards and principles. Through basic training and developing an understanding of Public Affairs for all bishops, stake leaders, seminary, and institute leaders, this tool will have a stronger influence and a common core message centered on Jesus Christ.

We recently had a church meeting to articulate changes that will affect the church’s future. This chapter came in handy because I was able to engage the congregation by asking the necessary questions to get their buy-in before actually setting the change in stone. Although I ready to implement the change, it was not executed until the congregation saw it the benefits and rewards. This practice is not always the best way, because time may or may not allow it.
In summary, Harrison. Klick, and Miller provide a helpful book for pastors that are striving for excellence in their church. The ultimate goal is to glorify God and introduce Jesus to as many as people as possible. As His church, the use of effective administration should proclaim the Gospel with the excellence He so richly deserves. Pastoral Helmsmanship is an essential read for leaders of ministries
Choosing someone to lead. When choosing leaders for our churches today it needs to be someone who
In an age when culture continues to lower standards of intellect, Marva Dawn makes compelling observations and suggestions for the Church to rethink its strategy on impacting society. How do we evangelize without weakening the message of what we are communicating? The majority of her text focuses on the worship environment generally, but later she focuses on music, preaching, and liturgy specifically. According to Dawn, a gathering of believers should emphasize God as the subject and object of worship, challenge each individual to grow in godly character, and accentuate the community of believers (not only in the room, but throughout history as well). Through this grid, she encourages leaders and participants to evaluate each worship element.
The Apostle Paul wrote, “And he [Jesus] gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ…”1 This means that the job of the church staff is to equip the church members for ministry. In other words, that is the staff’s primary ministry and job. In as much as prayer, preaching, counseling, hospital calls appear to be the job of the ministers, that is not the whole job for those called by God to lead the church. In addition, many people on staff in churches do their entire ministry alone and never get around to helping church attenders be the ministers in their neighborhood, work or family. One of the reasons this happens is because staff

It is important to have pastor involvement. Many times the pastor is seen as unapproachable or put on a pedestal. Bringing the pastor in to participate with the students will help take the pastor off of that pedestal. The youth see the pastor as a real person just like each of them.
Many organisations are addressing the relationship they have with stakeholders. Step 2: Refine any relationships that are questionable. This is for the followers that may have potential to develop toward becoming an in-group member.

This is why it is essential to have efficient event stakeholder management to ensure the success and sustainability of the event and to reduce conflict by ensuring that no stakeholder is overlooked. Once the ‘key players’ governing bodies and sponsor for example are identified, which is also known as stakeholder mapping and is an effective tool in the EMP to manage which stakeholders have the power and which are dependent on your event for resources (Getz, 1949). Seeing that there are so many stakeholders, who have different roles at different stages in the EMP these have to be categorised into two types of stakeholders. Internal stakeholders include group of people that ensure the dynamic of the event for example staff and volunteers (Carroll, 1993). Whereas, external stakeholders for example governing bodies and local communities could have the capability to influence the proceedings of the event, these groups can become allies and others can be affected by the event (Savage, Nix, Whitehead, & Blair 1991). Giver the extreme difference of these two groups they therefore have to be managed differently. The stakeholder mapping tool will then illustrate which stakeholders are of significant importance which will then help the practitioner to formulate a strategies for effective stakeholder management (Getz, 1949). Freeman (1984) argues that it is not only the

In a non-profit organization, the fairness approach is utilized to address stakeholder’s interest, opinions, and concerns. In a for-profit organization, bargaining power is the primary tool to determine how the organization will respond to the interest, opinions, and concerns of the stakeholder. In both a non-profit and for-profit organization, it is important to understand the stakeholders and their degree of salience. The program/project management plan is one tool in which to identify the stakeholders, the salience category they fall into, and their
