Jordan eventually made the team, and led them to the state championship. After high school, Jordan accepted a basketball scholarship to the University of North Carolina. Throughout the season on JV, Michael dominated. He averaged well over twenty points and had several forty point games. For the next two seasons, Michael Jordan had become one of the best players in the country. In his senior year he averaged 29.2 points, 10.1 assists, and 11.6 rebounds in his senior year. This led him to become on the McDonald All-American Team which is made based off the best players in the country.
At the university, Michael took on the challenge of driving his teammates to a level of performance that they might never have achieved on their own. With the same boys, they were now seniors, the 1986 Duke team won an NCAA-record 37 games while claiming titles in the Big Apple NIT, ACC regular season, ACC Tournament and the NCAA East Regional. They were undefeated at home, advanced to the NCAA Championship game in Dallas and played more games than any other team in college basketball history. Like most successful people today, LeBron had it rough growing having to move from apartment to apartment. His father Anthony McClelland, an ex-con, did not step up to the plate of fatherhood, leaving his mother Gloria James to raise him on her own. When LeBron was just a sobbing baby she bought him a miniature goal, not knowing she was creating one of the best ball players of all time.
He ended up not making the team but, he says that it was a good thing because it just gave all the more motivation to be the best basketball player he could be.
