The director of Spider-Man (Sam Raimi) has introduced the audience to a feeling of aspiration through a variety of different techniques and captures the viewer’s attention to the smallest details with great success and deliverance to become the character that is Peter Parker.
One of the ways that make the audience aspire to be Spider-Man is the set. The idea of the director is to involve the viewer in the story; he does this by having a set that most people at home can relate to, as the family in Spider-Man have not got a lot of money and are an average group and a typical American family.
The set that Sam designed for the various scenes in Spider-Man is realistic and makes the viewer believe they are real, although, in the wrestling scene, Sam managed to make this scene and the scenes leading up to it so realistic that the audience don’t think that they don’t have planned wrestling matches in America. Mise en scène includes this and is one of the very useful techniques, and can have an overwhelming effect on the viewer, as everything that is on the screen at any one time is there for a reason, and has a meaning. It gives the viewer information on the surrounding area or people. For example, if the kitchen cupboards are meant to be white, but are a yellowy brown colour, this could mean that the person smokes a lot, or that they aren’t very clean. This is used to its full potential in Spider-Man as the director makes sure the viewer can understand everything about Peter, and give them an idea of what they are aspiring to be. ...is children and people listening to all the music and taking part in the activities, but the audience hear an almost scary piece of music and his Spider senses, the viewer knows something is wrong and that he is going to have to save them. Contrapuntal is also used when you hear his spider senses every time, as there is normally something good happening at the time. For example, at the fete or fair, everyone is supposedly having a good time, although we can hear peters spidey senses going off, and we can see that the green goblin is bearing down onto the fair.
This all shows that the reason for the viewer wanting to be spider-man is the fact that the director, Sam Raimi, has managed to bring together some of the greatest techniques and fine tune them into his own style, then apply them to this film, making the viewer really feel as if they can relate to spider-man.
When it comes to films most people think that the filmmakers just draft up the script, hires some actors, films and edits some scenes, then releases the next number one movie in America to the world (or select theaters near you). In actuality, there are a lot more details that go into film than that. Filmmakers are constantly making decisions in regards to a films narrative and cinematic style and making sure a film comes out as well as it can. Tim Burton’s films depict his lashing back from a tortured childhood. Somehow, his movies tell his story. His first big budget movie, Batman, was a huge hit. He then chose to make Edward Scissorhands, his most personal film. Despite the fact that Batman was a hit, movie executives were reluctant to give Burton authorization. His use of cinematic techniques displays his unique style.
The set was well done and gave me an impression of a hotel room upon first sight. It was easily identifiable as a upper class hotel room, fitting the proclaimed prestige of the guest they were expecting. The set was identifiable as coming from the 1930‘s mainly due to the old time props, such as the telephone and the giant radio they had. Fitting of a comedy, almost every part of the set was used at least once for some kind of comedic effect. The characters would get them selves wrapped up in a telephone chord, or they’d be chasing each other around furniture, they’d shove each other through doors, or even hide in the closet or bathroom.
Besides the great components that has formed, what I unlike many of the critics believe to be one of the greatness movie of all time, an aspect of the film that does not seem to disappoint is the special effects, more specifically, the CGI’s. BBC News states that “it is this hyper-real movie magic that has made the Oscar-winner one of the most sought after visual effects supervisors in Hollywood.” Oscar winning Scott Farrar was the visual effects supervisor in the entire preceding Transformers trilogy. The movie offered “a tour de force of special effects, even if the critics were less kind about the movie's storyline”. While some may say that the visual effects used in the film were too much and sometimes unnecessary, there is no doubt that Farrar achieved great lengths and challenged future innovators of the visual and special effects industry.

From the beginning, the stage was set with its choice of scenery, lighting, and costumes. The backdrop was a transparent image depicting woods. It gave off a somewhat dark and eerie vibe. Also, the transparency of the backdrop allowed for various characters to either hind in the woods or to pass through. The mise en scenes in this film are unique because it gave viewers the ability to have a sense of how the characters are feeling. For example, low lighting was used throughout the film to express a sense of the unknown and/or fear. The scenery shows realistic sets in the play. The text is very episodic that show the parts of the events in a story. The conflict shows a rough experience of growing up with adults, who are treating the orphaned boys very abusive and having some troubles on where they belonged. Peter, other boys, and Molly have some kinds of conflicts about being a leader and succeeding the mission where the Lord Astar (Molly’s father) have to send to Molly. The conflict has already resolved when they have completed their mission and kept their group safe. It also affects my overall experience that the conflict between different characters did show different perspectives on how they lead and express their experience of leadership in their mission. The space of the theater was small, but it’s large enough for the actors to perform and for the audience to see. The scenery designer Andrew Breithaupt of this play did show a specific place and time. For example, the beginning shows the ship and what era is it. The scenery is also very real locale in the play, and it’s very appropriate views toward the audience for non-professional and school play. The scenery of this play did show more realistic-moving type, but it did move some parts of the scene that I see in the play. Also, it showed the surprising element of changing the sets than the scene. Costume Designer Amy Zsadanyi-Yale did give the clues about the timeline, personalities of every character in the play. But I believe that the costumes should get focused on connecting the situations in the play. For example, an orphanage that the nameless boy (Peter) and other boys lived should have ragged-looking or something damage into the costumes so it can create an effect on costumes from the scene. The costumes show the conflicts and interpersonal relationships, but I should consider that the social groups in this play should look something different from the orphanage and upper class. While the Batman character grown into an international franchise, many of his fellow superhero peers have fallen by the proverbial road side. Riding on his mysterious and dark persona, he is one of the most famous fictional characters of modern times. It is a unique blend of super-hero fantasy and realism that has allowed him to be accepted by such a wide audience, and it is to the credit of his producers that they have been able to mould the character the character to fit their needs while capitalizing on the character’s essence.

People liked this movie, because it was unlike the others being made in its time and was one of only few ever made from a Ghost’s point of view. The music that was used along with creative camera shots helped build excitement and kept the audience attentive. The slight raise of the volume when the camera made a close up on the fly in the cemetery along with others was highly effective with the scene action. Tim Burton was able to balance comedy and the more morbid aspects of the film brilliantly. The use of various colors, especially blue has become his trademark. All the actors fit perfectly in their roles in this movie, and their acting styles only contributed to the overall success of the film.
Okay, Sam Wilson is one example; but, we also have Miles Morales who is the new African-American Spider-Man; but, not only that, he is in (was) an interracial relationship with Kaite Bishop. That itself shows a little more diversity as well with Miles. The difference we see here is that although he is essentially replacing the past Spider-Man who was Caucasian, it 's not necessarily mentioned or you don 't necessarily think about it too much. What is important about Spider-Man is that each one has distinct personality traits, they do not attempt to make every single one the same. With Sam Wilson, I somehow think they want to make him old Cap, no matter how hard they deny it. Cap has one single personality and to change it would be to change the entire Captain America character. His name is what he does, what he stands for and what he lives for. With Spider-Man, there is more leeway to do what you want with new characters:
Our scene aims to create mystery and suspense. The producer has created this anxiety by beginning the scene in the night. There is darkness and besides the ominous background music and the narration of the protagonist there is mostly silence. Flapping of birds wings in response to a door opening makes the heart beat faster. The birds are startled, so was the viewer. The protagonist is exploring a mansion. The mansion is heritage in comparison to the date of the production however, clothing worn by characters and costumes of those in photographs show that this is set to be a period film dating into the past. There are sheets on furniture, dust and vines on the building’s interior that show that the mansion is old still in comparison to the characters. A period setting and the dark of the night make the scene feel eerie. It is too dark to see properly and this works to create mystery. Crying can be heard and the source is unknown, there is tension as the protagonist is unable to locate the source as they are forbidden by another character with greater dominance. Forbidden territory creates conflict and the viewer is left eager to find out whether the protagonist will obey orders or disobey to solve the mystery. As the viewer one is left tense for conflict
Mise-en-scene is used in many different parts of the movie to help the viewers feel as if they are a part of what is going on. An example of the use of mise-en-scene and also lighting used throughout the movie is when the characters are inside the matrix. The camera has a slight shade of green on everything during the scene. This could be identified as mise-en-scene. The green lighting is used to inform the viewers that the scene is taking place inside the matrix and it could also be a form of a lighting technique. The computer code is green, also which links it to the matrix. Then it changes to a blue light when they are back in the real world.
