Also, the process of preparing for special occasion might be difficult at the beginning but once you organize yourself, it will become easier. When preparing for a special occasion there are three things you should take into consideration: the invitation, the food/gifts and the place.
First, you should prepare the invitation list to be able to know how many guests you want to invite. Above all, you should make the difficult choice of who to invite and who not to. For instance, on Christmas Eve, which is also my birthday, I would like to do a small dinner gathering my closest friends and family. I’m so happy to be given the opportunity to join National Junior Honor Society(NJHS). I would love to be a member. I think it is important for kids to be involved in the community. Also, myself personally it would be an honor to be a face for our school.
My Final Banquet: It was my final moments as a Chelsea High School cheerleader. My final banquet was quickly approaching. It was then that I realized I was not ready for the season to be over. I stood in front of my friends, fellow cheerleaders, and their families as they watched and waited for me to recite my last words as the season came to an end. It took hours for me to write about what my teammates and coaches meant to me.
In 2009 Chimamanda Adichie gave a TED talk about the ‘danger of a single story’. A single story meaning, one thought or one example of a person becoming what we think about all people that fit that description, a stereotype if you will. In today’s America, I believe that we have all felt the wave of stereotypical views at some point or another. Adichie gives many relatable examples throughout her life of how she has been affected by the single story. Her story brings about an issue that all humans, from every inch of the earth, have come to understand on some level. As a student at Northvale Public School, I have grown up with my older siblings being inducted into an organization called the National Junior Honor Society. I had seen all the hard work and dedication they put into their school work and activities just to get into this society, making me want to be just like them. Then a few weeks ago, I found a note on my desk in homeroom telling me that I had been nominated to be apart of this society. Through citizenship and character, leadership, and service, I intend on being inducted into the society I have heard so much about. Though it will take a lot of effort this school year, being a part of this society is a dream of mine that I will make sure to come true.
Becoming an intrical part of the National Junior Honor Society would be a great privilege. NJHS established in 1929. From its conception, it has validated five guiding principles, which are; enthusiasm for scholarship, desire to render service, leadership, responsible citizenship, and development of character. Thus, I would not only like to join for the academic recognition, but to further develop and challenge myself within these areas. For many years, NJHS has paved a road to success for many alumni. Hopefully soon, I will be counted amongst them.
The need to memorialize events or people can be a complicated task. It is nearly impossible for one person capture all that that event or person meant to the world.In order for a person to be honored with a statue of museum to memorialize them, they must have really made an impact on the world. More often than not, people forget the grave sacrifices that were made by the many people who came before so that we can live how we do today. Three factors that a group or agency should consider when memorializing an event or person and in creating a monument are, respect, sacrifice, and size and location.

It was my mother’s birthday, I forgot which birthday it was. Two weeks before that day, I was thinking about what should I do for her birthday. I thought about getting her a present and a card, but it seemed to me too dull. I wonder what can I do to let her remember that birthday for the rest of her life, although I cannot remember which birthday it was. I thought of one thing that I always wanted to change about birthday — the cake. I was young and I believed that the cake was really important for birthdays. Previously, the cakes were standard, they taste and look average, they were either chocolate or vanilla flavored with standard bakery decorations on the them, on top, they were always slapped on a white chocolate “Happy Birthday” sign. There I go, I can bake a cake for her from scratch, a unique one which she will never forget about.
I was beginning to plan a night out for my 22nd birthday celebration with my fiance and my closest friends. I was unsure of where I wanted to celebrate it. A few days before my birthday I had fallen ill and was thinking of celebrating it another weekend so I could rest. I had put in some overtime at work, not eaten the best and had gotten very little sleep, I was convinced that was just it.
