One interest group is the Society for Professional Employees of Aerospace otherwise known as SPEEA. They were founded in 1946. They are a professional aerospace labor union. It is an affiliated local union of International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers otherwise known as IFPTE. The members of the union are located in Washington State, Kansas, Oregon, Utah, Florida, and California. The Union headquarters are in Seattle, WA with other offices located in Everett, WA and Wichita, Kansas. The companies that have SPEEA are Boeing, Triumph Composite Systems, and Spirit Aerosystems. They are a voluntary grassroots advocacy organization. They are independent, voluntary non-governmental organization. They are represented and governed by ranch and farm families. Their purpose is to analyze the problems of the families and to formulate actions in order to achieve economic opportunity, educational improvement, and social advancement and to promote national wellbeing. They are local, city, state, national, and international in range and influence. They are nonpartisan, non-secret, and non-sectarian. Its policy originates at the local level, promotes their policy up to the county, state, and national forums. Speaking out on issues that concern rural America by way of politically active people. They represent the economic and social interests of the farm and ranch families at state, local and national levels. It seeks to gain the support of the public on issues that affect farms and ranch families. They were founded in 1920 a year after the American Farm Bureau Federation was created. With over 2,000 members, the earliest county farm bureaus were located in Spokane, Walla Walla, Columbia, Skagit, Yakima, and Kittitas. The state office has been in varying locations first starting in Spokane then it moved to Walla Walla, then to Ellensburg, then Yakima to Olympia before they settled down in Lacy in 2006. It has a proximity to the State capitol which is Olympia. The earlier issues for them was to ensure rural citizens had and enjoyed the exact same benefits and the city people. It included telephone access, rural electrification, and other services and goods that were needed at competitive prices and also enjoyed by urban citizens. They still remain active in this cause. It consists of 25 county farm bureau organizations. In all of agricultural communities, they are one of the most respected member service organizations.
