One could not imagine a life without friends. Friends bring about a sense of balance in one’s life and allow one to enjoy life fully. As Samuel Johnson remarks, “True happiness consists not in the multitude of friends, but in their worth and choice.” Friends are not quite like anyone else in one’s life, one is apprehensive in others lives, concerns, and general well-being. Friends make others feel superior, are attentive, and long to be around under any circumstances. With time, the result of such qualities allows a relationship to be factual, blissful, emotionally stable, and have a unique bond. A friend “for a lifetime” provides respect, integrity, loyalty, and honesty in a relationship.
Respect is a quality in which one views others in high regard. One shares respect in a friendship. To gain one’s respect, one should show respect for others. For instance, if the respect is not mutual the relationship will not have an assured outcome. A friend is respectful when one is content to be oneself. The amount of respect will never change under any situation. One’s thoughts and perception is the same no matter who is around. Respectful friends do not violate or interfere with one’s personal space. True friends understand the appropriate actions to take to clarify the issue. Respect is a such a simple concept and a virtue that should be simple to follow. It means treating other people and animals in a dignified manner. Respect doesn’t mean that people need to hug everyone they come across or hold their opinion higher than everyone elses. Respect means treating others as equals and acknowledging that as human
Proper respect for others begins by a person respecting their self. Respect is developed by expressing honor, leadership, value, and trust in a person. If everyone respects everyone someday, the world will become a seventh heaven. It is important to be respectful for safety, to abide by the law, because children are influenced by their elders’ actions, and because God says so. Motivation from peers can help a person realize there is always room to improve the level of respect a person exhibits. Respect was, is, and always will be a positive attribute for everyone to strive for in their lives.
With friends, our lives will be better, our days will be full of joy, and our unhappiness will fade away. Friends will take care when we are in need as we will support them in everything with the best we have. Life with friends will always give us wonderful memories that we will never forget for the rest of our days. Works Cited Viorst, Judith. A. By definition a friend is a person who provides assistance and support. We have different groups of friends for different purposes in our lives. Although there are many different categories of friends, Marion Winik author of “What are Friends For?” mentions that some of the more common groups consist of the faraway, work, family, and former friends (132). We keep our friends because we value their loyalty, communication, support, and dependability.
Respect shows that one values another as an individual. It should be applied whether you are in the classroom, the playing field or at home. Respect is vital quality that I would habitually present as member of the Suzanne Cory High School Community.
Respect is a positive feeling shown towards someone or something considered important, or held in high esteem or regard as it conveys a sense of admiration for good or valuable qualities. This debatable concept of whether respect must be earned or not is explored in “The Fight” by Richard Wright and in “The Confrontation” by Raymond Barrio. Even though some support exists for the struggle for respect being freely given, more evidence supports respect being earned by oneself because it gets one point across and respect cannot be given unless it is earned.
From the bedtime stories parents read to their children when they are going to bed, to the books students ready in high school, or the books adults ready have one most common element friendship. The history in the American literature three were many books, essays and songs about great friendships some are still famous and some are lost, in the era where people become friends by following each other on Instagram or sending request on Facebook. Mostly all persons on earth have a best friend and people say that it is hard to fine because a best friend should be some on whom you can always count on and that a person always count on you too. Sometimes having right person as your friends can help you but at the same time if you are in companionship of a bad person it can hurt you too. A friendship is a bond shared with another person, typically of common interests. A friend is honest, loyal, faithful, and trustworthy. It's someone you can share secrets, memories, fears, and dreams with. They stand by you despite arguments or disputes that might arise. Friendships can bring joy, as well as pain; friends want the best for each other, and sometimes sacrifices must be made. In Of Mice and Men, John Steinbeck speaks of the advantages and pitfalls to a friendship.
Respect is when you admire (someone or something) deeply, as a result of their abilities, qualities, or achievements. The word respect was used in the 1540’s, from middle French word respecter “look back at, regard, consider” and also directly from Latin word respectere (Douglas). The Latin version of respect (respectere) was literally an act of looking back or often at, and observing someone (Douglas). In the 1550’s the meaning changed to treating people with obedient regard or appreciation. To this day the meaning has not changed.
It is through these friendships that drive humans to improve themselves in mind, body, and soul. Without cultivating this bond of friendship humanity will fall apart.
Frienships in young adulthood tend to center on work and parenting activities and the sharing of confidences and advice. Some friendships are extremely intimate and supportive; others are marked by frequent conflict. Some friendships are lifelong; other are fleeting (Hatup & Stevens, 1999) ; Some ‘ best friendships’ are more stable than ties to a lover or spouse.
There are many valuable things in life like family, sports, school but what about friendship? To live life without friendship is something no one should ever go through. Friendship is a necessity to living a successful life. Friendship occurs when someone is a supporter, gives assistance, and is attached to someone all the while genuinely taking care of them when they are hurt (The definition of friend, 1995-2002). A good and healthy friendship can be defined fro individuals as when someone has his or her own support system, a friend being loyal, and will always have genuine and mutual trust.
When defining friendship it can be explained in numerous of ways. It is most commonly described as the quality or state of being friendly; but, truthfully friendship it far more complex than just a simple expression to one another. It is a relationship that is formed over time that takes much commitment and a leveled compromise with one another to proceed the connection. A friendship can begin from something as common as a mutual interest and form into something life lasting. In order to begin and maintain this correspondence, there will be an urgence for similar interest, honesty, and making time and showing appreciation for one another.
Friendship is the most wonderful relationship that anyone can have. Ideally a friend is a person who offers love and respect and will never leave or betray us. Friends can tell harsh truths when they must be told. There are four different types of friends: True friends, Convenient friends, Special interest friends, and historical friends. To have friendship is to have comfort. In times of crisis and depression, a friend is there to calm us and to help lift up our spirits.
Friendships are one of the most important things you can get out of life. It’s something that everyone has to have because without it we would all go insane. Just think if no one talked to each other and we never made friends, this world would be a ticking time bomb. Studies say human need friendships and love to survive. So friendship is a big part of your life.
