In the movie “12 Years A Slave” the main character Solomon faces many hardships as a slave for 12 years.The movie tells the true story of Solomon, an African-American freeman who was snatched off the streets of Washington and was sold. Solomon along with other African-Americans was treated in ways you can't even imagine. A free black man living in Saratoga, New York, Solomon enjoys a comfortable upper-class lifestyle with his wife and children. When two men claiming to be traveling entertainers convince Solomon to accompany them to Washington on a profitable business venture, he agrees, only to quickly find himself the victim of a horrible scam. Another example is how Solomon was told to strip his clothes but he didn't and he got beat. Also, how is master was beating him and Solomon fought back. Solomon was hung because he fought back. Another example is how a slave would get wiped if they didn't listen to their master.Another example is how slave families have ripped apart .when the slave family was begging not separate them they were separated anyway. “ Uncle Tom’s Cabin ” and “12 Years A Slave, ” are quite summer yet different.The excerpt tells us about how Tom is ordered by his to whip a slave named Lucy. Lucy has not been able to enough cotton.In the movie Platt(Solomon) is forced to whip a slave named Patsy.In both movies the slaves to do not want to whip the other slave.But In the movie, Platt does whip her and in the excerpt, he doesn't. Also, the slave is being wiped for to very different reasons .the movie had more details to make it seem realistic. The excerpt/novel was fiction but the movie was based on a true
