Piracy Over the years, software piracy have become a burden on the entertainment industry. Software piracy is the unauthorized selling or copying of soft wares. This occurs by copying, selling or by downloading multiple copies of a software on personal computer without the authorization of the manufacturer. There are five common types of piracy the end user piracy, the Client-server overuse, internet piracy, Hard-disk loading and software copyrighting. According to BSA, the software industry lost 63.4 billion in revenue in 2012 due to software piracy. (Lerner)Artist spends a lot of time and hard work preparing their product therefore individuals should pay for their products, they are devaluing the artist hard work. Many individuals commits piracy without being aware of it. Since most individuals do not read the license entirely. However they can still be charge of criminal and civil laws if they are caught committing piracy. The low level of public awareness of piracy is the catalyst, most people are not aware that Piracy is wrong. Furthermore, more individuals want to have popular products without spending money in them. Popular products are expensive to create, produce and distribute therefore the product is expensive. Individuals does not want to spend a huge amount of money to buy good so they download it online free. Even if they are aware of it, they view piracy as a mean of having access to cheaper. Weak laws and enforcement in one of the causes that piracy is increasing. Since piracy is committed by millions of individuals per day, it is hard for officers to stop them. The problem is worldwide Russia, the Middle East have a high rate of piracy. In foreign countries, it is often more difficult to find stores and libraries of software which forces them to download products
