Software developers are the brains behind technology. They make the application and give it to programmers who write the code for the application. This includes operating systems, word processors, databases, spreadsheets, and games (¨Information¨). To be a great software developer one needs a good education, teamwork skills, and experience.
Software developers need some important qualities to be successful at this job. A good knowledge of hardware, software, and programming languages (¨National¨). This includes html and more advanced languages such as c++. Since hardware and programming languages are always updating you are always learning with this job whether on your own or going back to school. Excellent communication is another important quality (¨National¨). Excellent communication is needed for helping to solve problems customers have with the application. If there is a bug with the app, getting feedback from the customers and working with them to fix it will let the community know the company supports their products. Besides working with customers, working with co-workers is also important so a deadline can be met on certain parts of the project (¨National¨).
There are some requirements needed to have a better chance at being a Software Engineer. Having a bachelor's degree greatly enhances the chances (¨Information¨). Sometimes a person can get by with less schooling but, four years is usually average. In those four years there are some classes that will benefit the most. Math and science are usually some of the more beneficial classes to take in college. A major in computer science is usually the best bet (¨Information¨). A major in electrical engineering is usually okay too, but computer science is more applicable ...
