Societal regulations have been made since a long time, whether it is making smoking illegal in public places or setting a minimum age for teenage workers. In the short story, “Welcome to the Monkey House”, the government has set a few regulations for their society in order to control overpopulation in the world. To highlight what problems these regulations could cause, Vonnegut uses tropes and sentence variation.
