Social work is the profession involved in human services. One of the aspect of the professionalism of social work is, social workers follow the code of ethics adopted by National Association of Social workers (NASW). Social workers values, ethics, knowledge, theory and skills are the key elements of social work practice ( Bennett , Zubrzycki, & Bacon, 2011). Service is one of the value of the social workers as their primary goal is to help people in need and address social problems. Social workers are encouraged to volunteer without any selfish wish in return . Another generation right s third generation right which involves collective rights in development of the community. We as a social worker are the facilitators to work with communities to increase their capacity to find their own solutions to problems. Community development plays a vital role in working with indigenous communities. For instance, if a child from the indigenous community comes in contact of us at child protection service, then the chances of developing negative views on a childlike child might not be getting enough food to eat, maybe in poor health are arise. So, in such case we as a social worker first should ensure that child is safe and his best interests are met which is a fundamental human rights found in the Convention on the Rights of child in Australia (Ford , 2013 ). As rights come with responsibilities which means the government has obligations to protect rights as well as his responsibilities to ensure the rights are met. Social workers can drag the attention of government to reflect the campaigns and programs being run in various places in favour of indigenous community. One of the issue which I found was indigenous education as they are not provided the quality education. Indigenous children are always dominated by the white children. (Ford,2013). During the period, even the children used to share the problems with their parents they had no solutions because the system, was against the indigenous people. Children were forced to work under British in labour cost by sacrificing their aim (Queensland Government, 2018 ). So, for the betterment of indigenous education different organization, INGOS and government have been playing very important roles. Different rights and laws, policies, communities, INGOS have planned and invested a lot of funding for the development of indigenous education. At the present, progression in gaining education is increased. Indigenous are working in different sectors with qualified education. For example, indigenous are working with white people in appropriate position. As Closing the Gap shows, 95% of all indigenous four years old’s children are enrolled in different school (Queensland, Government ,2018). As compared to past years education development rate is slowly rising. The target of close the gap in school appearance by 2018 is on way. In year 2017, the overall rate of indigenous students attending in school nationwide was 83.2 percent, compared with 93.0 percent for non-indigenous students.
