As a freshman in college, it can be overwhelming with all the options in career choices. I remember when I was deciding what major I would choose, I kept thinking about what my dad had always told me, “A job is something you wake up and do every day but dread. A career is something that you wake up and look forward to doing.” My dad had told me that so many times growing up, that it became a personal goal to do something I love. When I finally chose my major, there were several individuals who had attempted to talk me out of studying Social Work. Yet, I knew it was the right path for me.
