Social Entrepreneurship has been in our economy since historic times. They may not have been recognized properly with that term, social entrepreneurship, but what some other people from historical times had done can be considered as an action that pursue to solve social problems. This existence introduce changed in our society. This is one of the most important reasons that our society attained change especially when comparing our society from the historical/ renaissance time in our modern time today. Social entrepreneurs are one of the significant people that help, support and strived to fight against the injustices that they know that are happening around the world. They’re the one who not just identify the social problems and but also turned it into an opportunity. In addition, social entrepreneurs may turned the social problems into opportunities but it is not just for their own growth but also for the growth of the society as a whole. It is part of a social entrepreneurs characteristic to think of ideas that can help the society and how to be able to maximized its social impact rather than how much profit they can generate. Muhammad Yunus is a professor in economics who had already completed his PhD. He established the Grameen Bank, also called “the Village Bank”, a for-profit, anti-poverty bank that have women villagers as the majority of its shareholder, and became one of the most famous pioneers of social entrepreneurship. In having women as majority of it’s shareholder, this can also show that Muhammad Yunus is fighting against the discrimination of the inferiority of women as well. In the book, the difference and changed of establishing the Grameen Bank had been clearly and more understandably discussed. According from the book, Grameen Bank only hired local people instead of hiring foreigners. Also, their hiring process of staff members is strictly fair by not prioritizing or giving importance to family or friends but instead keeping it completely competitive. The very company of Grameen Bank is also fair because they make sure to never accept any form of bribery even from aid donors that wanted their projects to be prioritized. Grameen Bank is solely focused on efficiency and results. Every actions or projects the company does, they make sure to properly have an inventory and being strict in measuring and counting everything, may they be the loan granted and repaid, or every child they had helped educate,
