Being someone that has experienced secondhand smoke in the past, it is not a very pleasant experience. Smoke can kill and another person’s bad habit should not make death’s judgement upon you. People fall victim to this atrocity every day; it is one of the most controversial topics that exist today. Should organizations be allowed to decide smoking habits in their limits; such as cities, college campuses, sporting venues, and other organizations? Organizations should be able to ban smoking if they wish to. Smoking has already been banned in places such as restaurants, because of the fact that it can cause cancer. Nobody wishes cancer upon anyone and secondhand smoke makes it just as easy to acquire. If the problem is not addressed there can be no solution to it. Secondhand smoke is a very big danger in public places and is putting people at risk. Some people completely ignore the health risks of not just themselves, but also the people around them. The reason smoking is already illegal in places such as public restaurants is because of the toll smoking may have on the people around them. Not only should other public places be allowed to ban smoking, but they should take these issues that come along with it and get rid of it altogether. As most people already know, tobacco kills. Tobacco slowly tightens the noose around the user’s neck and sets him or herself up for a slow painful death. Not only are smokers killing themselves, but slowly burying others in their cold careless graves. People do not realize the distress sickness can cause families. In my experience, a death in the family is very upsetting; having someone taken away from you is heartbreaking. Knowing the pain it can cause, people should be even more against public
