I can simply not think about graduating college and buying a business over night in order for me to successfully my goal I should only make goals which I think I can make it happen graduating college and buying business both are attain able but buying business and graduating after that are not attainable for me because I can not study once I get into business. In the same way what I want to do should also be relevant to me graduating college is relevant to me because it is a requirement in my family to graduate college before getting into business. Goals are bounded by time where I will have to get things done in a period of time the best example about goals to be time bounded is that I have to graduate college, buy business and retire before I turn 45 which means that I have to complete my education and take care of all the things that I need to buy a business, establish that business well enough before I turn 45 if I don’t set my goals in a timely manner than there are high chances of me delaying them where I can take college lightly fail few classes and repeat them, pass them in order to graduate when I delay one part of the entire goal it will highly affect the other factors related to my goal so it is very important to keep your goals bounded by time because if your goal has certain kind of time limit it helps you to push your limits to complete your goals no matter what hurdles come in your
In order to avoid the pitfalls of your smart goals they should be both SMART and WISE. WISE goals are written, integrated, synergistic and expansive (Jay, 2011). I want to go over two examples of SMART goals that I feel will take me to the next
Determination and Applying short term SMART goals are the key to achieving a long term goal. In 5 – 10 years I see myself as Rutgers School of Engineering alumni, and an employee at Langan Environmental and Engineering Services. My long-term goal is graduate by May 2020 and starts my career as a Civil Engineer. I would like to work at the traffic department preparing due diligent studies and traffic impact statements. Working as a Civil Engineer will provide me with the opportunity of working on various types of projects that can help and advance many societies and communities. Being able to have such an impact on the community I live in is more satisfying than just earning a salary. As of now I am not sure if I would stay in the tri-state
Despite their benefit, SMART goals are not without their drawbacks which can hinder the obtaining of desired results. One difficulty regarding setting SMART goals is that the words “goals” and “objectives” are often used interchangeably and this can result in major difficulties (MacLeod, 2012, p. 69). Goals are more often general in nature, whereas objectives are tangible targets. This confusion of terms can result in unclear goals which invariably yields weaker results as compared to a clear
To me success is knowing that I didn't just meet my goal, I overachieved my goal. If I don't meet my goals, that's fine. All I need is to try my hardest and give it my all and I will be fulfilled. Reaching your goals is important but It is very necessary to sit down and think about other stuff like, what you value or what is important to you. The most important things to me is my family, friends, health and education. I also value achievement, adventure, happiness and knowledge. In total with your view of accomplishment and success in mind, you can succeed and reach your goals.
Having goals is crucial in the journey of eventually reaching the organizations vision. A vision is the destination for the organization, while the goals are more focused (Clark, 2014). The presence of goals within an organization allows leaders to be able to measure their progress. According to Colorado State University-Global Campus (2010) the concept of SMART (specific, measureable, attainable, realistic, timely) goals is frequently used to help measure an organizations success in reaching their goals. Having goals that meet the SMART criteria enable the organization to be able to more efficiently track, measure and ultimately reach their goals. Goals that are missing any of the five facets of the SMART concept will be a liability to the success of the organization.
Starting with my academic goal of making it into the Honor Society, the first step of accomplishing this using the SMART system would be to specify my exact goal. For me, I feel it will be the earn an A in the 6 classes that I take. The next step for this goal would be to make it measurable. This would be done be checking my progress every week, in each class I take to make sure that I am making acceptable grades in order to obtain the A, in the class. Next would be to make sure this goal is achievable/attainable. In order to make this goal attainable, I need to make sure that I am setting ...
SMART is an acronym that stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-bound. The SMART goal changed the way that I approached the semester and forever changed the way that I will approach life. SMART goals are crucial to being successful because without them it is impossible to know if you truly reached your goals. To be successful you need to follow every part of the SMART acronym. Your goals need to be Specific because if they are not specific then you do not know what you are
"Goal setting is actually a formal process for personal planning. By setting your goals on a routine basis (at the start of the year, every month, etc.), you propel yourself closer to achieving these goals." (Fowler, 2004) With that thought in mind I have set my first educational goal as a long term goal to earn a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology degree. This will open up my ability to strive for a career in my field of passion of computers. To overcome the issue of time management I have dedicated my self to using my Yahoo calendar and the calendar in Outlook Express more in-depth and more up to date than in the past. I will print out these calendars and post them on my bulletin board in my home office where I can reference and utilize them properly. My second educational goal is to complete every course for the University of Phoenix BSIT requirements with the best possible score for each class. I have the same issue of time management in relation to this goal. For this problem I have decided to create a semester (course) calendar with co-curricular activities so I can concentrate on completing my requirements for each course without being distracted with personal scheduling conflicts. My third and final educational goal is to complete the requirements for earning a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE). This is considered one of my long, long range goals. The only issue related to this goal is that I don't know what is required for this certification. I'm sure with obtaining the requirements from a web source I can overcome this goal with no problem.
Having a dream is the main purpose of why people are successful. Which it will also be my main skill, because having a strong desire of wanting to accomplish things always brings strong and positive results. Staying motivated is another purpose of why people are successful. Being motivated will help me to accomplish my goals. It will help me to help others that are also wanting to be successful.

...e very important. When these goals are specific, measureable, attainable, realistic and timely they are the most effective. When I set my SMART goal in order to increase my physical activity, the goal was to feel better about myself and to have a clearer mind so that I could do well with my studies this resulted in increasing my physical health and wellness. There were a few challenges of having to force myself to get out of bed even though I was feeling really anxious. I think when making a SMART goal and changing that particular behaviour there will be changes that need to be faced and overcome. These might include psychological, family and work commitments, health challenges and many other duties. Motivation and time management therefore need to be considered when making a SMART goal to make this possible and therefore can succeed in their new behaviour change.
Everyone has goals, some are as simple as saying that you plan to wash all your jeans on Thursday. This is not a smart goal but it is a goal. SMART Goals are goals that are Specific Measurable Attainable Relevant/Result Focused/Realistic and Time-Bound. I believe that all goals should be SMART. This way you can create a step by step path on how
In setting a goal, you set up a grand goal and then you break it down into smaller goals. This helps you to further monitor your progress on a smaller scale and helps you stay motivated and focused because each time you achieve one of the smaller goals, it keeps you inspired to achieve the grand goal. Set goals that are definite with a well-known target to achieve, always giving yourself a specific time-stamped to achieve your goals.
