PhenRx claims to do it all. From suppressing your appetite to boosting your metabolism, it seems like there’s nothing that this drug’s “revolutionary” formula can’t accomplish. Better still, the makers of PhenRx seem to not only know the exact parts of your body where you’d like to lose weight, but why so much weight accumulates in those parts in the first place, as well. Most importantly, PhenRx claims to be able to get rid of that weight, leaving you slim, fit and healthy.

The Host of 'The Dr. Oz Show' scolded by U.S. Congress for endorsing deceptive weight loss products. Mehmet Cengiz Öz, better known as Dr. Oz, or as Oprah Winfrey calls him, “America’s doctor”, infamously uses overblown and exaggerated language to promote weight loss products without proven benefits. In this video, he testifies on Capitol Hill in June of 2014. He speaks before the Senate subcommittee on Consumer protection, product safety, and insurance hearing to examine protecting consumers from false and deceptive weight loss products. This particular hearing is a follow-up to the Federal Trade Commission who accused Dr. Oz of deceptive diet products as well.
The good news is that Shawna says that women over 35 have an advantage when it comes to burning off stomach fat! She claims that the hormonal changes in their bodies actually make her program work faster!
Everyone enjoys a good fatty meal from McDonald's, KFC, or any other fast food restaurant from time to time. Or maybe just a bag of chips, a candy bar, or an ice cream cone. All of these are food items which people consume on a regular basis and are full of fat. For years, the public has worried about the intake of fat from items such as these and has almost obsessed over weight, figures, and fat. With all the hype about liquid diets, diet pills, diet programs, etc. who wouldn't jump at the idea of an all natural solution. The makers of this product has certainly done their share of work to create an image truly appealing to any and all that dream of losing that extra fat. This probable solution is called chitosan and is simply a fat inhibitor which appears to work miracles for those in search of a safe way to lose that body fat. The information surrounding this product is extremely impressive and appears to justify a revolutionary new discovery. However, is this truly what it is dressed up to be or is it yet another gimmick?
The article “The Skinny on Low-fat Diets” by Alan Ling is about the drawbacks of low-fat diets. The author talks about how low-fat diets don’t necessarily work and uses facts to strengthen her claim. One of the ways the author strengthen their claim is by showing the other side of the argument. The author includes this information to strengthen her claim and show readers that they can defend their argument from others.
The South Beach Diet continues to be a popular commercial weight loss program created by Florida based Cardiologist and Professor, Arthur Agatston. Published in 2003, The South Beach Diet book quickly became a bestseller. Through their website, Macmillan Publishers says, “…his book The South Beach Diet and its companion titles have sold more than 22 million copies”, “Dr. Agatson has also published more than 100 scientific articles and abstracts in medical journals”. Presumably, Dr. Agatson has profited well from his diet books. This fact should not deter us from listening to what he has to say. His years of medical training and experience do carry some weight.
I was intrigued to buy this product due to the word selection HEALTHY but not truly informed how not healthy this product was for

Diet pills became popular in 1996. The most common ingredients were Redux and fenfluramin/phentermine, which acted as appetite suppressants. The pills seemed to suck up the fat, and people were losing anywhere between 25-50 pounds in months. The FDA no longer approves the use of Redux or fen/phen, but new ingredients have made diet pills just as popular. An herb called ephedra is currently the most common substance in diet pills.
I personally don't feel that over the counter diet medications are very safe or effective. I feel that the taking of any medication for weight loss should be under a physician's care if that is what they feel is advisable to help in a patient’s particular health situation. The over the counter medications do not require FDA review or approval of the drug maker's claims before marketing, and I find that worrisome. I don't really agree that the prescription diet medications are completely safe and effective either, but I do believe that they have more research behind them by being FDA approved and you are being monitored under a doctor's supervision while taking them.
