This article, “Six Sigma at a Crossroads”, is about the significance of Six Sigma in today’s society and where it is possibly going in the future. The title of the article really explains the entire work well. Six Sigma is at a crossroads, in that it might become a more known and well used philosophy or just mentioned in a textbook later on. One of the main issues discussed throughout the article is whether Six Sigma is meant for an individual or an organization. The article claimed that this is one reason Six Sigma has a questionable future. Goh continued to describe the main attributes of Six Sigma that are not solely dependent on each other. There were four of these attributes discussed in the article to further explain what Six Sigma means. Goh also explained that Six Sigma was not created by the academic community. It was brought into existence solely to improve production quality in organizations (Goh 3).
