In The Kite Runner written by Khaled Hosseini has multiple actions of sins and redemptions. A Sin is an immoral act considered to be a transgression against divine law. A Redemption is the action of saving or being saved from sin, error or evil. A boy from Afghanistan named amir committed a sin which causes him a life with guilt and resentment , that later lead to his redemption. Guilt can affect how a person lives their life and the actions they do. Fletcher states that ”Guilt as a psychological state that might be cured by a confession of sins”(Fletcher 1). Moreover, Guilt is the fact that a person did something that is universally or morally wrong like committing a crime or offense. Guilt might even cause harm to a person you love ones. A person feeling guilty experiences 5 hours a week with that feeling, guilt makes it difficult to think and to enjoy life. Guilt can also make you want to avoid the person you did wrong to or have hurt. Guilt is a very hurtful feeling that will stay with a person for a very long time until the person finds the redemption they are looking for. In the kite runner amir’s cowardice causes his friendship with Hassan. While receiving gifts people talked about the kite and how good he did. This cause amir to feel resentful towards himself, which cause his next sin. He accuses Hassan of stealing his presents, Hassan is being the good friend he is he agrees. This later leads Hassan's to leave which puts distance between them. Hosseini states that “maybe Hassan was the price I had to pay ,the lamb I had to slay to win Baba (77).
