Canada is a great country with great opportunities to succeed with not many complaints that affect our whole life but have you ever wondered what it is like to live in a place where the odds of you living are 30 years younger? or make 97 percent less money or how about you are 5 times more likely to get murdered? This is how an everyday life looks in developing countries and specifically, Afghanistan. It is interesting to see one country struggling so much where the other is not necessarily struggling at all. What is also interesting is the similarities we do have although lifestyle may totally be different. A similar issue for both countries are housing issues; acquiring a house has become hard due to the high mortgage prices and the interest rates charged by the real estate agencies in Canada. On the other hand, Countries like Afghanistan are facing extreme housing challenges because an increased number of people moving from rural areas to urban areas. The increased rural-urban migration has caused shortage of houses in urban areas which would be forcing people to live in informal settlement areas, which leads to the formation of slums which is becoming more and more common. Besides that, another issue, which is also affected globally is, pollution. There are many problems that pollution can cause; polluted air puts you at a higher risk for asthma or lung cancer and for water pollution, in terms of Oil spill may lead to death of several wildlife species. A social issue in Afghanistan is the enrolment rates for women at work and schooling are almost half that of men with 41.8 percent for females and 73.7 percent for males.
