Some ancient civilizations were very similar even though they can be on opposite sides of the world. Such as the Mayans and the Egyptians. The Maya flourished from about 250 AD to the late 700s and lived in Central America. Egypt lasted from 2000 BC to 200 AD along the Nile River. Both the civilizations had similarities and differences in their geographic factors, the monuments they built, and their social pyramid.

There are some geographic features that lead to similar lifestyles of both the Mayans and the Egyptians. In Egypt, the land was an isolated, dry desert except around the Nile.
