" Silence of the Lambs " is a classic of the genre which is a thriller. A cult film which signed up in history of cinema. A masterpiece performed by Anthony Hopkins. The film is based on the book by Thomas Harris of the same name (Harris, 1988) . Although it was filmed in 1991, it remains one of the best psychological thrillers ever made. Jonathan Demme's film goes beyond the classical framework of the genre, playing with intellect viewer with associations . The movie surprises, though, even the predictability becomes a attractive - predictable places, characters, and events. Demme's film is in my opinion a great movie of crime, derived many, many of the thriller which has many unusual psychological content . Rarely do you find in contemporary cinema so well drawn characters, so scary and fascinating look of evil .
What or who is evil? The simple answer may be a character Cannibal Lecter. Cold and calculating , frightening by his calmness and composure. Esthete, a connoisseur of art painted images, creating a gallery in his cell. An innocent face, calm gestures and piercing smile. Cannibal is a psychologist . From the smallest visible gesture or words sounding unnaturally, he is able to correctly read the desires, fears and ambitions. The quality of the perfume , handbag , type of clothing is suggested who he is dealing with. Confidence appears as an external sign of insecurity , immaturity buried under pretense of seriousness. Fear is the source of which comes from somewhere in the depths of unconscious reality belonging to the child. Cannibal reads people, staring with Agent Starling. This kind of evil torture another human with truth, he affects her conscience and memory. Lecter forces Clarice to confessions, he behaves...

The level and degree to which the audience, in horror, being persuaded, constantly shifts around, but the message stays consistent. For example, in the novel, Silence of the Lambs (Thomas Harris), brings a “paradoxical” tone to your understanding of Hannibal Lecter; while, you are quite disgusted with the crimes he has committed, you are at the same time, quite intrigued by the wit and sophistication of the “monster;” humanizing him. However, James Whale, takes a different approach in the horror film, The Bride of Frankenstein. James Whale, a prisoner of war during World War One, coaxes us to feel sympathy for the monster through the outward and internal entorturement of the monsters isolation due to it’s appearance. Even though both of these films diverge from each other in ways to compel their audiences to feel certain emotions; the movie or novel come together in the sense that; they revolve around two central aspects, thrill and a message; the message is what gives all the layers the consistency of flavor, we all long for the mouth-watering jawbreaker known as

Evil is constantly talked about on the news, in history class, and by people in society. But who causes this evil that society is so intrigued by? Author William Golding’s idea of evil in “the darkness of man’s heart” is present in his novel, Lord of the Flies, and in the present world.
Evil exists in all human beings, even children. This is proven in William Golding's novel Lord of the Flies in which a group of youthful, inncocent boys are stranded without any contact with the outside world. The boys are not in the civil surrondings that they are used to, but their instincts kick in and their ultimate goal is to survive, together. The first sense of security is when all of the boys find eachother. They are given hope. Hope that is immediately lost when the division between the two born leaders, Jack and Ralph, begins. Their innocence is lost due to the lack of proper authority and consequence. They are no longer just juvenile boys under someone else's care, but survivors fighting to stay alive.
In Silence of the Lambs, Doctor Hannibal Lector, a well-known psychiatrist and cannibalistic murderer, is a prisoner in a psychiatric hospital. He shows signs of Antisocial Personality Disorder. The movie does not go in to what caused the disorder, but the next book entitled Hannibal does. Hannibal Lector was born in Lithuania and during World War II, he and his sister were orphaned when German deserters murdered their parents along with others from their town. Lector, his sister, and other children from the town were kidnapped and kept as a food source for the deserters. Lector witnessed the brutal murder of his beloved sister and then was forced to watch as his sister is eaten. Lector himself was even forced to partake in this so called meal. This

Silence of the Lambs, is commonly said to be one of the most famous thrillers made. After watching the film for the first time, I noticed the director had many interesting themes and concepts. Some of these themes included, good vs. evil, the search for peace, judging a book by its cover, and gender and sexuality in the workplace. The theme I found most interesting, and what I found the director made most apparent, was gender and sexuality in the workplace. The director showed that gender and sexuality in the workplace was the most noticeable theme because of the constant contrasts set between Clarice and her male co- workers, her continuous denial about her femininity, and the amount of danger Clarice runs into because as a women, she is always having to do things on her own.
What separates this character from both Medias is his unique personality in Hannibal. Dr. Lector is portrayed to be more of a gentleman in the way he carries himself around others. He is also shown to be much of a perfectionist, even when living his double life as a murderer. An example would be when he uses the dead bodies of his victims making them into somewhat of an art calling it “his design”. The way he eats his victims is no exception to “his design” either. The dishes that he creates would seem like they came out of a 5 star restaurant, which is an advantage for him, when throwing his small dinner parties, no one would ever suspect that they’re eating parts of Dr. Lector’s victims.
Lions for Lambs, was a different kind of war drama, showing several perspectives by various individuals of the conflict in Afghanistan. Instead of the in-your-face action and special affects most war dramas are recognized for, this movie focused more on the ethical quandaries, political beliefs and emotions experienced by the individuals involved.

And it was this that Rome never wanted to see again; so to be a good Roman, one had to be taught what it was to be a "Hannibal" and how not to be a "Hannibal." In the end Rome was taught many valuable lessons and to the victor go the spoils; so it is a measure of the fear Hannibal’s name instilled, that long after he was dead and gone, parents would scold naughty children with the warning that if they weren't good, Hannibal would come to get them in the night.
I spent a lot of time considering what movie I would watch to write this essay. I listed off the movies that I would like to watch again, and then I decided on The Notebook. I didn’t really think I could write about adolescence or children, so I thought that, maybe, I could write about the elderly. The love story that The Notebook tells is truly amazing. I love watching this movie, although I cry every time I watch it. The Notebook is about an elderly man that tells the story of his life with the one he loves the most, his wife. He is telling the story to his wife, who has Alzheimer’s Disease, which is a degenerative disease that affects a person’s memory. She has no recollection of him or their life together, or even her own children. She wrote the story of their love herself, so that when he read the story to her, she would come back to him. There are three things that I would like to discuss about this movie. First, I would like to discuss their stage of life and the theory that I believe describes their stage of life the best. Second, I would like to discuss Alzheimer’s DIsease and its affect on the main character who has it and her family. Third, I would like to discuss how at the end of the movie, they died together. I know it is a movie, but I do know that it is known that elderly people who have been together for a long time, usually die not to far apart from one another.
Wicked, dishonorable, corrupt, villainous, malicious, and vicious all have one thing in common: they define evil. A person or a group of people that display these qualities are often defined as evil beings or creatures. Two people that have many of these characteristics developed within them are Iago from Shakespeare’s Othello and Lucifer from the Bible. Both Iago and Lucifer are developed with many “evil” qualities woven intricately into their character development. The representation of each “evil” characteristic gives them something they have in common, allowing the description and portrayal of both Iago and Lucifer in literature show the audience they share common “evil” characteristics and that they lead to chaos and downfall.
