Put a Stop to Fast Food Chains Americans should not be allowed to eat fast food. Everyone knows that fast food is not a good choice of food to eat but everyone still eats it. If you look at the facts and saw how much not eating fast food could help you, you might reconsider your eating habits. Only 33 out of 5,427 meals meet nutritional requirements (Kaplan, 6). Children are fast food advertisers main target and as a proven fact that in 2012, preschoolers saw 1,023 fast food ads (fastfoodmarketing.org, 7). Most people don’t even consider it food because it doesn’t have any or little nutrition. Everyone knows how fast food is awful for your body but people still continue to eat it, therefore it needs to be regulated by the government. Nearly 35% of the U.S adults are obese and 34% are overweight (nichd.nih.gov, 1). Anyone that is more than 100 pounds’ overweight is considered to be obese (nlm.nih.gov, 1). There are proven facts that people that are obese are highly likely to be addicted to food. Food affects systems in the brain that control feelings of reward, which is what causes the addiction (Kenney, 7). Since most people in the world that are obese or overweight are addicted to food, the government should try and make a stop to fast food chains because people that are already eating badly have no self-control or will power before everyone in the world follows their path and ruins their
