If you were to take a poll of what people thought mattered most in order to obtain success in today’s society, most people would agree that having a college education plays a significant role in this success. Unfortunately, due to the increase of college tuition, a lesser amount of people are able to afford this education thus making a lesser amount of people, by today’s standards, successful. Just like with public high schools, I believe that classes from public universities should be made free for everyone. The best way to go about this is by letting the federal government use their funds to take care of it. These financial aid programs helped many people save money, but the fact of the matter is that this money could have been spent to make sure that every single person in the United States had a free college tuition, if they were to want one.
The reason as to why some people do not have any form of college education has a lot to do with the expense. Most people are told from a young age that if you want a good job that you must first have a good college education. The problem is that as of right now with a good college education comes high student loans and debt. We all know that there are some students who do not, and will never, care about their education. Whether they have a wealthy family and do not see the point of getting a degree, if they already have a manual labor job lined-up, or any other reason, some students just do not value education. As of right now, a lot of students who do value their education are filtered out between the time between high school and college. If a student does not value his/her education, they do not see the purpose of paying for college when they feel as if they do not need it. When a free college tuition program is brought in, these students who do not value their educations will be more likely to attend college. Instead of having classrooms filled with students who are eager to get their money’s worth, there will be classrooms filled with students who feel obligated to go to college because it is free right beside the people who want a good college education. What you must realize is that there are students, right now, in college who do not care about their education. Of course, they are harder to find, but they still exist. Also, if you are looking for a solution to this problem I have that for you. Of course, college tuition will still be free, but there will be a catch. If you are planning to obtain a degree from this free-tuition program, maybe you will have to have a specific number of community
