“A hero is somebody who voluntarily walks into the unknown.”-Tom Hanks. A hero is a person that helps or has helped someone with something that not a lot of people would not do. Johnny can be considered a hero because he saved Ponyboy from being drowned by a Soc. Ponyboy can also be considered a hero because he helped the children in the church. Dally can be considered a hero because he helped Johnny and Ponyboy escape by giving them money and a gun.

One reason why Johnny can be considered a hero because he saved Ponyboy from drowning. That is heroic because there were a lot of other Socs there and he risked getting jumped again. In addition to why Johnny can be considered a hero, he was always there for Ponyboy when he needed it. That is heroic because that shows that he really cares about Ponyboy. Ponyboy can also be considered a hero because he was gonna take the blame for Johnny killing the Soc. On page 57 it talks about Ponyboy escaping with Johnny when he could have left Johnny alone. That is heroic because he stayed with Johnny even when he was running from the police and he did not leave him alone. Dally can be considered a hero because he helped Johnny and Ponyboy get out of town by giving them money and for their safety he gave them a gun. In addition, he took the blame for something that two-bit did and got arrested to save two-bit from getting in to trouble. And finally, he helped Johnny in the burning church by pulling him out to safety. That is heroic because he risked his life for Johnny’s.

People who disagree may claim that Ponyboy can not be considered a hero because he go to rumbles against the Socs. people may also claim that Johnny can't be considered a hero because he killed a Soc. And finally, they may claim that Dally can’t be a hero because he gave Ponyboy and Johnny a gun and helped them escape the
