Even though 68% of students between the grades of 6 and 12 bring cell phones to school, the school ban the use of them in the building at the time of the first bell and the last bell of the day. Students of all ages already use them. Important phone numbers include parent’s work numbers, doctor office numbers, or whoever the student may need to contact in case of emergency. They may need to contact their parents if they get sick or are hurt. This helps because the school may not have a parent 's work phone or other numbers. Along with all of the pros that seem to be there, there are also several cons that may come with having cell phones in schools. Allowing cellphones in schools may cause a distraction to the student using the cell phone, the teacher teaching the class, or the other students in the class. That is where integrity comes into play. Doing what is right even when no one is looking. If students know how to respect the people around them, then everything would be better and probably easier. The student that is taking the test could take a picture of the test, send the picture to someone else, then that person could send the answers back to that person. Although phones can be a distraction in school kids should be able to have them to either play games, listen to music, or get ahold of their parents faster if there’s a huge emergency or to play school related games.
The first topic that should be mentioned would be found in both source one and two. The uses of phones in classroom are seemingly endless. Teachers can send text reminders and messages, student can take research, look up words, save important dates on the calendar, and use the calculator. One teacher, Mrs. Webb, said that she uses the phone's for research, to send home reminders, and for polling. More than 76% of schools in the United States allow cell phones in the school and allow students to use them at their convenience. Cell phones can be used anywhere and anytime, including the school. Most schools don’t have a cell phone policy during classes, lunches, and locker breaks. I disagree with having cell phones in school because not everyone has a cell phone, students will get distracted from their work, and cell phones will have a higher probability of going off in class. Even though cell phones are great to use, they shouldn’t be used during school.

Now since the schools let kids bring them, students always find was too sneak onto them without being noticed. There are plenty of reasons why kids should not be able to use phones in school. One of these reasons is because so many people use phones for cheating. There are plenty of ways that students can find to cheat on their cell phones. Although they are fun to use, phones shouldn’t be used in school. Phones cause students to get distracted leading to bad grades because they weren’t listening to what the teacher had to say. There is no real "problem" with cell-phones in themselves. Students just need to learn, and remember, that there is a time and a place for everything. A cell-phone should generally not be used in class, unless perhaps somebody is standing at the front of the room with a gun, or if there was some other calamity, such as: kids making bomb threats and what not - for these reasons I find it completely reasonable for a child to be permitted to be equipped with a powered "ON" cellular device. I don't know about you, but if I have kids one day who are potentially in danger, I would want to be aware of this at once.
