Water Chlorination

The Conflict

Water is a necessity for the human body to function. Many people around the world suffer dramatically since they do not have access to clean, drinkable water. Two million people around the world die annually because of diarrhoea. It was estimated that 88% of that burden is attributable to unsafe water supply, sanitation and hygiene and is mostly concentrated on children in developing countries (World Health Organization). Therefore, one of the chemical treatments of purification water, to change contaminated water to clean, is by a procedure called water chlorination.
