What are we made of? I mean humans of course, but what are we made of. We know what our bodies are composed of but what is in our souls or spirits. Are humans really superior to other living things. Yes we can talk, but what are we made of? We are made of our feelings. Our standards, our way of life, our way of thinking and everyone is different. Some may be straight A students with a normal life while some have had a rough journey and less than perfect grades. But there are some things that I think most people have in them. It’s a positive spirit. Now, everyones is triggered by different stuff but we all have one. But, of course where there is a positive spirit there is a negative spirit which is much, much easier to catch. Even though The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet doesn’t scream positive messages about human spirit there are still some in it such as, love can make you do crazy things, in hard times people can unite, and that even when everyone is against you, you can still do what’s right. In this play Romeo and Juliet definitely do crazy things for love which is very positive about the human spirit. When you’re in love your spirit is much happier in my opinion and so doing crazy things makes life fun and exciting and how is that not a positive message about the human spirit. It is saying we can be spontaneous and crazy which is a good way to live and a awesome thing to have in your spirit. Now, some think that because of love they kill themselves and that is not positive and while this is a true statement it is not the whole story. Love also made them get married and sneak around which are both exciting which is positive. Marriage is supposed to be this amazing thing that is the greatest gesture of love which is why they ge... ... middle of paper ... ...ys to me is that she doesn’t even consider marrying Paris for a second because she knows it isn’t right. The fact that she can be strong while she has to stand alone to do the right thing which is an amazing example of a positive human spirit. Obviously these are all great examples of human spirit because they show that we can be spontaneous, caring, and strong. In this play Romeo and Juliet definitely do crazy things for love which is very positive about the human spirit. Another positive message about human spirit shown in this play is that in hard times people can unite together. Last, doing what right even when everyone is against you is a great example of a positive message about human spirit. Clearly, there are many more negative messages but when you find the positive ones like these then they are really great. Works Cited The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet
In Act I of Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare demonstrates different forms of love that characters face. From the beginning, Romeo struggles to find true love and what love really is. As for Juliet, she also struggles on what love is, but also finding her own voice. And when finally finding true love they discover that they have fallen in love their own enemy. They both realize that the idea of love can be amazing, but also a painful experience. Shakespeare demonstrates love versus evil and the forms love takes that is acknowledged as an universal issue that connects different types of audiences. Audiences are captured by relating on love and the emotions that are displayed. From Romeo and Rosaline’s unrequited love, Paris and Juliet’s false love, and Romeo and Juliet’s ill-fated love, create the forms of love that establishes love as a leading theme in Act I.
Through the ingenious use of personification in Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare competently conveys the messages of love as lust, clouded judgment and death. In this dramatic tragedy, all of the character’s problems are a result of basing decisions off of their emotions rather than logic. Because of this, two lustful teenagers end up taking their lives over extreme affections and fear of their parents’ disapproval. Sometimes in life, people forget personality and focus only on finding the most beautiful girl or the most handsome boy. This is shown time and again throughout this play and is displayed through the use of personification. In conclusion, if people would think logically and look for positive emotions in others, life would be happier and less painful.
The love shared between Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet is one of the most prominent emotions in the play that continues to influence behavior. When Juliet asks Romeo how he was able to climb her balcony, he responds, “With love’s light wings I do o’erperch these walls,/For stony limits cannot hold love out,/And what love can do, that dares love attempt” (Rom. 2.2.71-73). Romeo expresses the strength and influence love has on his behavior in order to be with Juliet. But when Friar Lawrence attempts to be optimistic about his banishment, Romeo obstinately asserts that, “Thou canst not speak of that thou dost not feel./Wert thou as young as I…”(3.3.67-68). While love can provide strength, it can also prompt, especially amongst young lovers, irrationality. It is evident that “His [Romeo’s] whole love affair betrays a cast of mind that is hopeful against obstacle and impatient of cold reason” (Draper 122). This “cast of mind” is a portion of the human nature that Shakespeare clearly conveys in the play. Shakespeare, through Romeo, portrays the positive and negat...
Romeo & Juliet Romeo and Juliet was a tragedy, but it did not have to be. Many things could have been done to prevent their deaths. Many characters contributed to their deaths. The sole character that was responsible for their deaths is Friar Lawrence. Friar Lawrence is responsible for the deaths of the lovers because he was secretive with their relationship, he was unable communicate effectively, and he had a cowardly persona.
The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy mainly because of the downfall of the main characters through weakness or misfortune, which lead to their deaths but these flaws are not the only reasons for this tragedy, it is possible that their fate was “written in the stars” as there are many references made about these stars. Fate (the fact that life is already planned out and is out of human control) must be one of the key factors in causing the tragedy of the “star-crossed lovers” Romeo and Juliet. It is possible that there was “some consequence yet hanging in the stars”(I iv) that already had their lives scripted down and no matter how much Romeo wanted to defy them “I defy you stars”(I, vi) he could not. This must mean that Romeo’s life was already planned out. But fate was not only interpreted in the stars, somehow it seemed that some of the characters foreshadowed their own fate, like Friar Lawrence foreshadowed “love so gentle in [Romeo’s] view, should be so tyrannous in proof”(I, I), this meaning that Romeo may see the love he has now, as wonderful, but as it continues it causes trouble.

Relationships evolve as a human being evolves. During the time of Shakespeare, humans’ relationship was based mostly on impulse, but in the present time, humans do not tend to go impulsive at the beginning of the relationship for avoiding any tragedy by learning from past stories. In Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, the original relationship between the lovers, their marriage, and their suicides are the direct result of their impulsive.
Throughout Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare the story is often considered a tragedy. However the story is also considered the greatest love tale of all time. Love is viewed as a positive thing, so there must be a reason why the story connects to humans who have a good and bad side. Also that there might possibly be several positive themes displayed in the passage. There are three major positive messages about the human spirit provided in the tale, one is hope, the second is love and the third is endurance.
Romeo and Juliet is one of the most iconic romance plays of all time, however when you read the book, it hardly sounds like the ideal romance. Romeo and Juliet is based off of young children who make irrational decisions and heavily feel the consequences. While reading this play, Shakespeare leaves the reader frustrated because of the large amount of vacuous decisions made by those in love. In Shakespeare 's tragic play Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare portrays love as negative by showing the conflicts and pain it can cause, constantly referring to love using oxymorons and symbolism, and illustrating the blinding effect that the people in love will feel.
Romeo and Juliet show very vividly that love can be a dangerous influence. Romeo and Juliet are from rival families and have found love. They had put aside their families ancient hatred and fell in love in secrecy which obviously came with consequence. In Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, the author communicates the message that love causes humans to make irrational decisions. We know this because of their decision to get married, Juliet's decision to fake her death, and Romeo and Juliets to end their lives,
Now, everyone always says that you should always listen to your parents but that is not always the case. While your parents may be older and have more experience they still do not know everything. But don’t get me wrong, you should obey your parents when they have your best interest in mind and are genuinely trying to help you through life. But, sometimes, kids especially know this to be true, your parents just don’t understand. Which I find funny because they are always saying I was a kid once too but then they just seem to forget what it feel like because they are too busy being a parent. I think thats one of the biggest reasons that they don’t understand, if they had a kids perspective i truly believe that they would handle a lot of things differently. Some parents don’t care about trying to understand they just try to use their children to make their lives better even at the cost of their children's happiness. While some parents do know a lot, in cases like they are asking you to do something dangerous, if they want you to do something that goes against what you believe, and if they don’t understand the situation.
Through this tragic play, Shakespeare illustrates that love requires people to sacrifice many precious things, which can include family, friends, even life. Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet depicts the nuances of human experience of love. Romeo and Juliet’s story is the greatest declaration of romantic love.
