I had a great and wonderful time while this play because the author used very unrealistic ideas to create his play. William Shakespeare is a great writer and his plays are always good because he is one of the greatest writers of all time. This play was mind blowing and very instructive and it obvious that this play is written by a creative mind. Shakespeare has never or would never deceive me when it comes to a book. Also, his plays are always meaningful, constructive and usually send powerful messages.
Romeo and Juliet is by far one of the most admired plays that Shakespeare has written and because of this, the play as been modified into similar stories such as 'West side story', 'II Novellino' and the narrative poem by Arthur Brook called 'The tragicall historye of Romeus and Juliet' in 1562, which Shakespeare had worked from. The play was performed at the Globe theatre in London in 1594 for the very first time. It was performed numerous of times, which made Romeo and Juliet an extremely successful story of the decade. When the play was first printed it had been nicknamed as the "bad quarto" because it had been written from somebody's memory, which was inaccurate. Then later the second Quarto was printed and entitled "The most excellent and lamentable tragedie of Romeo and Juliet", and this is the version, which is used by scholars today.
`Romeo and Juliet` has made a big impact on novelists, filmmakers, composers etc. It has inspired many films due to the fact it's a love story doomed to go wrong. It has inspired musicals such as `West Side Story`. There are many more types of entertainment based on `Romeo and Juliet` because it's not your typical love story with a happy ending. And because `Romeo and Juliet` is such a popular play film writers, producers etc.
Even though William Shakespeare's writing wasn't as popular at the time, today his work is very popular and many people worldwide still look at it today. At the time William Shakespeare might not have realized what he was doing and just wrote these pieces because that was what he liked to do but what he did was impact our society into what it is today. By doing all of the amazing things William Shakespeare did in his lifetime he helped impact our society by changing our English language, inspire a very famous murder that changed the U.S. history, tell us stories, influenced other writers, and change the theatre world. One of the biggest ways William Shakespeare impacted our society was he changed our English language into what it is today. One of the ways he did this was by adding thousand of common words that we still use today.
There are many full-length books that just discuss and explain the play of Macbeth. Other ways the play is kept alive is through other authors rewriting it, but making slight changes or even using some of his lines or themes in their own plays or other pieces of literature. The movie industry was also greatly affected by Macbeth. Since the invention of movies, there have been many different versions of this play that have been adapted to the movie screen. Macbeth is a play that can last forever as it has everything that still interests and has always interested people such as murder, deceit, and a trip into the human psyche.
There is little doubt Shakespeare used the story of Pyramus and Thisbe as inspiration for Romeo and Juliet, and thus they have many similarities. Both stories share very similar plots with similar archetypal young lovers as characters. Because Shakespeare used Pyramus and Thisbe as his inspiration for Romeo and Juliet, at first glance the stories seem almost identical with essentially the same beginnings and endings; however, the two stories differ slightly in their journeys to the climax and end of the plot. Pyramus and Thisbe and Romeo and Juliet both begin with two very attractive, desirable youth who are unaware of each other’s existence. Pyramus and Thisbe become aware of each other due to the close proximity of their homes: Pyramus and Thisbe, he the loveliest youth, and she the most sought after girl, the East held, lived in neighbouring houses, in the towering city of Babylon, that Semiramis is said to have enclosed with walls of brick.
In a number of plays, Shakespeare has created the dramatic interest that worked not only in his day but has managed to remain a classic today. However, not many people ask the question of which of his plays does this the best as we all share the opinion that it is ‘Romeo and Juliet’. The basis is that love stories have always been popular as we all feel love in some way at some time in our lives and we can therefore relate to this play. Yet, the “ancient grudge” between the lovers families creates an obstacle in their relationship and makes the audience wonder if the love is strong enough to overcome the hatred. From reading the opening prologue; the plot of the story is given aw... ... middle of paper ... ... have their first speech in the form of the love sonnet although when the two realise each other’s identity, the hate between the two families takes over leaving the audience wondering if the power of their love is strong enough to overcome the hate.
He wrote the play for Queen Elizabeth the 1st, the play also appealed to a wider audience at that time. In Shakespeare’s time the audience would have really enjoyed watching this plays as it gives them chance to forget about their awful lives. Shakespeare wrote his plays just for his audience, some of his plays were a success and some weren’t. Romeo and Juliet was a huge success and is still a popular play now. The play starts with a prologue this tells the audience what is going to happen during the play bringing dramatic tension to the play, as the audience will be waiting to see the fights and tragedies.
His work affects everyone and inspires them to do many good things in life. For example, in the play As You Like It Shakespeare implied, “A fool thinks himself to be wise, a wise man knows himself to be a fool” (As You Like It V.1.30). William Shakespeare’s plays are highly popular and are frequently studied. Shakespeare’s play makes his plays so real that he changed the face of drama forever. William Shakespeare has become an important landmark in English history and impacted the world of history.
He produced the most sophisticated and entertaining plays of his time and this is why the Globe is so famous due to his presence. It is amazing how one person could change our views on literature and history as well as make a once simple thatch roof building stand out among the rest of its kind.
