Henry V is Shakespeare on leadership. Shakespeare celebrates this English monarch, displaying what makes him a good leader. Henry expels justice and mercy, he listens, he motivates, and his is gravely aware of his responsibilities as king.
Young Henry is presented with a chance to rally great Britain (England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales) with a common cause and prove himself: by claiming and conquering France. Without a common cause his noblemen may quickly quarrel with each other and challenge the king’s authority. King Henry can make claim to France because his grandmother was a French princess, However, the French have a Salique law which prohibits the French crown from being inherited by the line of the female but the law is interpreted to only block the Germans from the Salique land from claiming the throne.
Henry is a good listener, he is well advised because he takes council from his nobles and the Bishop of Canterbury. Studying law is dominated by the Catholic church in the fifteenth century. The bishop advises the King that he indeed has a claim to the French throne. But a previous scene reveals that the bishop has interests of his own. “May I with right and conscious make this claim?” asks Henry. “It is a sin upon my head.” replies Canterbury. Thus Henry receives the approval and the blessing of the church with the advice that since the French do not think the same about the Salique law France can only be taken by force. His advisor and uncle Exeter says “Your brothers and Kings of monarchs of the earth do all expect that you should rouse yourself, as did the former lions of your blood.” meaning that much is expected of Henry and he must live up to his ancestor’s reputation. ...ht of responsibility is something every leader must face and coupe with. Henry turns to God praying “O God of battles! Steal my soldiers hearts; poses them not with fear…” Henry is asking God to make he soldiers fearless. Whether or not his men were fearless, they carried they day.
Shakespeare revealed Henry V’s leadership skills though indirect characterizations in scenes throughout this epic play. Henry possesses such leadership skills as listening, knowing when to grant mercy and justice, how to motivate, and he was also conscious of the immensity of his responsibilities as king. All of Henry’s leadership skills can be lesson translated into the modern world.

When we look at Henry as a king we have to look in the context of

Henry excites fear by stating he is so passionately ready to sacrifice for his country. This play towards pathos, or appealing to the audience’s emotions, is an effective way of trying to convince the House to go to war against Britain. This pathos combined with the logic of Henry’s speech, makes for a convincing argument. Logically taking the house step by step from stating that because he has an outlook on their situation, he should express it to them, to stating his argument before the House, to saying that lacking freedom is worse then death, then taking it full circle pronouncing he would prefer to be “give[n] death” then to have his freedom taken away by the British.
Leadership can be defined in a myriad of ways; but for the purpose of the question, it is but not limited to the affect someone who takes charge of a group of people with authority or rank; to be an influence to those who look to the leader. In the epic poem, “Beowulf”, there are two different views on leadership based on their leaders {i.e. King Hrothgar and Beowulf). With King Hrothgar, he accepted the help of Beowulf to fight in order to defend the people of the Herodot, “Beowulf my friend/fight for us” (457-458). Due to the understanding of his age, King Hrothgar shows humility and admirable stance, adapts to someone who admires him, allowing Beowulf to fight for the people of Herodot. Beowulf on the other hand, shows his leadership by taking the initiative and offering his aid to King Hrothgar’s people, to fight the demon Grendel, who is terrorizing the people. This leader...
There is quite a lot of turn around and Henry never uses negative comments. Henry has close relationship with his men, by using a variety of strong terms. Henry's lecture has reference to the superior being to give more assurance. Furthermore King Henry gives divine inspiration to many leaders now days.

The lesson for audiences, then, is to develop relationships with different people who will expand one’s area of inspiration and the ability to advance success. One can learn from the mistakes of King Henry and remember to be visible and properly positioned, so society can see one’s strengths and talents.
After letting the church convince him to go war something changed in henry. His mood changes because he was ready for war after the unexpected gift of tennis balls from the Dauphin. Henry stated whatever happens it’s the will of God. Yes, the childish gift from the Dauphin offends him but instead of conquering France out of anger. The Church influences him to fight with God on his side and God will lead him to victory. As Henry put all his trust in God that demonstrated another characteristic of an ideal Christian king. Through high moral character Henry established credibility with the audience through creating a setting that aroused feelings in the people at the convention in order to convince them they had to fight for more than just peace. The goal Henry had when he spoke about war was to be honest with the crowd and point out that they needed to do something now or they would loose not just what he loved, but what they also loved. Henry said “If we wish to be free, if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending...and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained, we must fight!”. There are various displays of leadership and role modeling in the Shakespearean play 'Romeo and Juliet'. When one hears the term leader, there may be some confusion around what qualities a leader may or may not possess. One should also avoid confusing a good leader with a good role model, because although a good role model may possess similar qualities, there are a few qualities that are required in order to be a strong leader. Two very good examples of the contrasts between a good leader and a good role model are the characters Friar Lawrence and the Prince of Verona, in Romeo and Juliet. The Friar may very well be a good role model, however many would likely hesitate to classify him as a good leader. Just the same, the Prince of Verona would be classified by many as a strong leader.

Shakespeare dictates that a leader is cunning, sharp minded, and a caring person who is prepared to dedicate their life to a goal and to the people they care for; the reason be “right” or “wrong”.
I side with Loades on this as despite resentment from the nobles, after the Perkin Warbeck imposture there were no more serious uprisings which strongly support the success of Henry’s policies. Whilst most nobles would see his methods as unjust (especially the wide of use bonds and recognisances) Henry succeeded in increasing the crown’s standing at the expense of the nobility, securing his position whilst weakening the nobles. Through most of his policies Henry was successful in limiting the powers of nobility. Henry sought to restrict the noble’s power and yet at the same time needed them to keep order and represent him at local levels, therefore Henry sought not to destroy the nobles but to weaken them enough that they did not pose a threat, he needed a balance of control over the nobles and strong nobility.

Henry V, written by William Shakespeare, is by far one of his more historically accurate plays. This play is the life of young King Henry V, who ascended to the throne after his father, Henry IV's death. These times were much different for England, as Henry V was a noble lord whom everyone loved, whereas angry factions haunted his father's reign. Shakespeare portrays a fairly accurate account of the historical Henry V, but certain parts are either inflated"deflated, or conflated to dramatize Henry V as a character suitable for a Renaissance audience.

My greatest accomplishment as a leader was when my mother had a job where she had to leave the house at four in the morning, I was only in sixth grade at the time, but I had to get myself, my older brother, and my younger sister out of bed every morning to make sure they got to school. My older brother was in eighth grade at the time but he didn't set his alarm and never woke up on time, which is why I had to make sure everyone was up. I started setting an alarm clock one hour before I needed to leave (If I had ever forgotten to set my alarm we would have all missed school.) Next I learned how to make my
