A writer and actor, Shakespeare was a magnificent man who lived during the Renaissance period. With no facts or evidence, William Shakespeare, the third eldest in his family, was believed to be born on April 23, 1564. In 1582, William Shakespeare, at age eighteen, married Anne Hathaway, who was twenty-six. Six months later, the couple had their first child, Susanna Shakespeare. After two years, in 1885, Anne gave birth to a set of fraternal twins, Hamnet and Judith Shakespeare. Hamnet, the only son of Shakespeare, died when he was only eleven years old, but Anne and Judith were able to survive past their childhood. After the birth of Hamnet and Judith, there was a seven-year period of time called the “lost years.” From 1585 to 1592, there was no historical evidence of where Shakespeare was or why he left Stratford for London; historians only know that Shakespeare was in London by 1592. Many theories have been made, such as fleeing Stratford after getting caught hunting deer or having written an abusive ballad about a man.
