There is just something about vampires that have been attracting attention since 1897. Recently, there has been in influx of these soulless creatures in the entertainment industry, from books, films, television, and even fanfiction. There are collectives of people who very much wish to be real vampires, that they will drink one another’s blood. We often think of vampires as being incredible dangerous, but also mystifying and sexy. There is no exception in Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
In the beginning of the novel, readers are introduced to Jonathan Harker, a solicitor. Harker is looking to to business with a Transylvanian nobleman, Count Dracula. However, Harker becomes a captive in Dracula’s home, where he finds out the truth of the nobleman. Dracula

Perhaps Stocker is trying to make a point about women’s sexuality. They actually have it. When this novel was published, there was already a push to women’s rights. No longer did women want to be stifled in the box that society deemed fit. Women can be sexy and not have to be stifled.
On the other hand, maybe this scene puts further development on Harker, so that readers may paint clearer picture. He is a man that doesn’t seem to have strong will. Harker is young, as well as naïve. This particular scene shows us that he does seem to know how much danger he is in, however he doesn’t care. These females are unlike anything he has ever encountered before, and they want him.
Whether the two previous suggestions are right or wrong, this scene in Dracula, does bring passion into the story. The scene brings emotion that readers are able to feel. Maybe Stoker wanted to write something that would make readers hold discussion about the scene. Whether this was inappropriate for its time. In any case, this novel opened the doors to the world of vampires and werewolves. If this novel was not written into existence, life just might be a little
