The Catholic Social Teachings guide the Church and its members to be a beacon of justice in the world. The seventh Catholic Social Teaching principle is the care and protection for God’s creation. The universe is created by God and everyone has the responsibility in protecting people and the planet. God’s children are considered the stewards and caretakers of Creation, since they are responsible in protecting the resources for future generations. Overall, living out the seventh Catholic Social Teaching in my future will allow me to live in harmony with God’s creation.

For instance, I will use my own reusable bag to purchase groceries. This is an effective way in reducing the amount of paper bags given to consumers. Additionally, I will have paper statements that are normally mailed to be sent through emails. The process of sending mail in the post office harms the environment and the people. Particularly, the car pollution affect the environment, since automobiles emit greenhouse gases which contribute to global warming. Additionally, paper is a limiting resource and should be preserved by sending emails to coworkers instead of the post office. Thirdly, I will have a low-flow showerhead that reduces the amount of water used when showering. Due to this new technology, the high pressure shower can save the amount of water. Particularly, these three different ways can protect God’s creation and provide sufficient resources for the next generations.
God created the natural environment to provide us with natural resources to sustain our bodies. The seventh principle focusing on the responsibility to care for Creation and respect the natural environment. The creation of a reusable humanoid robot and its functionality can promote awareness to society of the need to recycle products every day.
