For instance, in the collaborative coaching experience, I learned to respect my colleague opinions and shared new ways on how to promote learning (Laureate Education, 2010b). Collaborative professional development helps teachers acquire new skills where they establish positive relationships with other educators. It is very critical for all schools to implement collaborative professional developments because teachers learn to respect each other’s ideas, work collaborative, and learn new skills that will definitely make a difference in student learning. Implementing collaborative professional development in schools is very important and beneficial for teachers because it affects student learning in many positive ways. One way is that teachers experience working collaborative with other educators and acquire new skills that they will model later for their students in the classroom.
I think that being a teacher is a very rewarding job. Teachers should try to teach their students new things with a positive attitude, with enthusiasm and interest. Giving more attention to students of younger ages is especially important. It is a good feeling to see students become knowledgeable in all aspects and to prepare students to be successful for the good of society. I want to give myself the opportunity to become a teacher, and help students to grow academically and emotionally to become successful in society.
The real reward will be the success of their students and the growth of their knowledge of the world around them. I have observed that becoming a teacher is different from training or studying for any other job. Teachers bring their work home with them, both literally and figuratively. All teachers need to bring home papers to grade and lesson plans to work on; yet, becoming a real teacher means taking the job more seriously. Teachers are mentors who tackle little problems that a particular student faces.
I think school district need to do a better job at training school leaders get the proper training and use teacher evaluations to benefit both the teachers and students. Teacher evaluations are very important. Most of the time, they have a negative feeling attached to them. Some teachers view evaluations as a way of them getting written up for what they are not doing and not as a way of growing and improving to help them teach their students. This also depends on how the principals frame and do teacher evaluations.
For generations teachers have been developing our future through harmony, wisdom, and intellectual adventure. A teachers' role in society is to help our youth grow and further their understandings in the principles of life. The expository essay The Role of the Teacher by Irving Layton provides a different perspective on education in the 21st century. Similar to Layton, I firmly believe that education is for the expansion of the young mind and nothing should restrict a student's ability to do so. Layton touches on a view where teachers need to be passionate about their jobs, however, teachers are not always responsible for every action the school makes, but the responsibility may lie in the hands of the school board.
Lead our students to success in life, giving them the academic and social skills they need to be good members of the community. As a special education teacher, being a Servant leader will be important, to build strong relationships with my coworkers, reaching for help and help others to look for new strategies that will make a better learning environment for my students. It is also important to be a transformational leader, because I will not just influence my students lives, but other teachers as well. In a special education classroom, I will have the help of an Aide that in many cases will be directing the instruction of my students. Promoting and motivating my Aides and other members of the school to maximize their skills will make a better experience for my students and the community.
It is essential that teachers know and understand this and know how to properly support their students. A socially just teachers needs to know what each individual student needs in order to succeed and do everything in their power to help them get there. Teachers need to be an advocate for their students and create an environment that is safe for them to be themselves and succeed. A highly effective teacher is someone who is great at teaching concepts from a textbook, but, more importantly, can teach life lessons. Teachers have the ability to change lives.
Therefore, it is very important that the teachers create a very harmonious relations with their students in order to get out the best of there students . From early age, teachers should show the students that they very important, and they are the future of the country. Also, students opinions and point of view should be considered by the teachers, and they should always encourage students to participate and not be afraid to share their opinions and points of view to help them develop their critical thinking skills. The schools need to have more professors who deliver their experience in life to their students, so students can interact with more manner in the society. Teachers should be able to provide the information which students need in their daily life.
The educational aspect of teaching is a given, but the teacher must also aid their students in being individuals and appreciating who they are and where they come from. Teachers must also provide comfort and security for their students. The more comfortable that a student feels with their teacher, the more apt they will be to share issues they are struggling with in their lives. One of the reasons that I want to be an educator is because I want to fill every one of my students with confidence. I intend to pack the minds of my students with an endless supply of knowledge as well as encouragement in every aspect of their life.
Teachers make sure they do this by making time for their students, which means having personal meetings with them. When teachers use their own time to help students, it further shows how supportive teachers are. When students know they can depend on a teacher, the students then feel more comfortable in their learning situation and will be more likely succeed. To further emphasize this support of teachers to students, many teachers use a method of ‘Praise, Question, Polish’; which helps to critique students on a comfortable basis. By using this method, students also learn to become more independent when teachers show them, gradually, that students will learn to write better with the ease of criticism.
