September 11, 2001 every American can tell you what they were doing that day when they found out about the catastrophic news of what occurred on this day. I remember I was in school and didn’t really know what was going on until I got home and sat on the couch and saw the footage on the T.V. The whole nation seemed to come to an abrupt halt while there was panic in New York City. Questions that seemed to come to everyone’s mind would be who did this, and how did we let something this horrifying occur. Ultimately, someone else did the act of terrorism but we let it occur by letting our guard down. We could have prevented a disaster such as this simply by paying more attention to the security of our airports but then again we didn’t know how flawed the system was until someone decided to use it to their own advantage to harm American people. In all, my research has showed me how the system was flawed before 9/11, how they were able commit the act of terrorism, and what changes in National and airport security occurred because of 9/11. The purpose of this essay is to find how security was in airports during 9/11 and how security has changed since 9/11 and also to see if there was an increase in targeting towards certain ethnic groups.

Since the attacks on September 11th, the Airline industry has taken a big drop in commercial traffic and has lost tons of money from this tragedy. While this is happening they are all starting to implement new security measures required by the Transportation Security Administration or the TSA. The most complex part of security is cargo security because of the large number of bags.
