Bravery. Strength. Sense of Justice. These are three attributes commonly shared throughout every super hero we’ve ever come to know. Spider-man, Superman, Captain America, Batman, etc. All of these superheroes have a variety of characterisitcs, specifically tailored to the kind of superhero they represent; three characteristics every superhero is required to have is an unwithered sense of bravery, superhuman strength, and an abiding sense of justice. Beowulf undeniably resembles the characteristics of an Anglo-Saxon hero by radiating the characteristics of bravery, strength, and an undying sense of justice.

To begin, one of the many Anglo-Saxon characteristics displayed by Beowulf is his enduring sense of bravery.

Beowulf knew fighting all of these battles could put his life at risk, and selflessly decided to go through with every task despite the outcome. Beowulf would rise to whatever challenge thrown his way, no matter how difficult, simply because he always constantly wants to help, and do the right thing. Even when the going got tough, specifically in his last battle with the dragon, a battle that he ultimately lost, he never gave up and he never lost hope. He went to battle with an unwithering fight driving him to bring justice against evil.

Beowulf is undeniably one of the greatest heroes of all time, and he compares to a great amount of Anglo-Saxon, and Modern Day heroes by sharing common attributes like his bravery, strength, and sense of justice. Beowulf demonstrated his braveness because no matter how tough the battle was he never quit, his undeniable strength was shown by defeating Grendel with his mighty grip, ripping off Grendel’s arm, and lastly, Beowulf’s undying sense of justice was shown by continuously wanting to do the right thing for the land, people of the land, and safety of everyone.
