Reflective Narrative 2 In the conclusion of my last fifteen hours of my senior project, I volunteered at Suncrest Assisted Living. The objective of my overall project was to volunteer around the facility and to help out with two events that I would help plan. Unfortunately, I was not able to finish the second event due to my mentor leaving the facility to work somewhere else. Even with losing the the second event, I was able to finish my hours helping around the facility and learn many life lessons along the way. Within the last fifteen hours of my project, there were few issues with planning because I was able to show-up depending on my schedule instead of having to plan around my schedule and my mentors schedule. I also had to sacrifice some of my weekends to be able to show-up and continue my project. The successes I have come across at volunteering at Suncrest Assisted Living vastly outweigh the hardships. During my last fifteen hours of volunteering, I was able to improve on my listening skills and my ability to follow and complete tasks the way my supervisor would like them done, even if their way was not my preference. I was also able to forge many relationships with the residents that I helped and will always cherish the relationships I made. In total, my project consisted of planning one event followed with volunteering around the facility. The event was very successful in part because it helped to spread cheer throughout the facility and it helped provide an activity for the residents to do.
