Senate Bill 1070 is a law created in Arizona to reduce the amount of immigrants.Every time a police pulls over someone ,in the state that uses a law like this, they have to check their US Citizenship and make sure that they are legal citizens. If the person that gets pulled over is not a US citizen, they will get shipped back to the country they are from. In my opinion the law is good. Less untrustworthy people will be in America. Most of the illegal immigrants that cross over to the United States are unprofessional that take the jobs of poor people that are citizens and creating poverty. Illegal immigrants also abuse the United States. The US gives people money that have little money and expect to get money back in taxes. The United States needs to realize that these people are taking advantage of their programs and free health care. The local hospital closed down due to people having no money to pay, but the hospital must heal them. Many illegals are often seen working in the construction business, gardening, roofing, concrete work, house cleaning, etc. This is because most of those are hard work or thought of as blue collar work that often does not pay enough to support a family. This problem is not new to the country because thousands of immigrants have crossed over the oceans and Mexican border since our country was founded. The underlying problem is the lack of assimilation to the American ways of life and the acceptance of existing rules and laws. With the already fragile economy and the largely growing unemployment rate Americans must make every effort to close its borders to undocumented workers to ease the strain and retain any available jobs for unemployed Americans and legal workers. Chomsky so on to say, “it indeed seems to be the case that immigrants and low-skilled citizens are competing for the same jobs”(11). Hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants enter the country and start working either under illegal names or take agricultural jobs in which they are paid under the table. In conclusion, I believe that the current immigration system is broken. Millions of illegal immigrants are living undocumented in the United States. This leaves an unfair system for all current citizens that pay taxes and immigrants looking to migrate into the country legally. Clearly there is a dire need for reform, and the proposal presented offers many solutions that can boost our economy and create various new jobs. The national GDP will increase heavily over the years and tourism profits will skyrocket as well as boosting our economy upwards. This reform can create new opportunities for the betterment of this country and allow room for growth in a variety of different aspects.
