People who have low self image, and low self esteem, are unhappy with whom they are in life. Things that are done well are often taken for granted. Where as mistakes are heavily looked upon. One's position in life and previous experiences can also add to negative feelings. Constantly being told you're headed no where or that you're nothing but a failure can lead to a low self esteem and low self image. There are many things that can be done to raise self image, and self esteem. Responding to criticism positively is very important. If someone points out a flaw in something you've done, strive to fix it. They are not trying to belittle you. They are just helping. Be positive and confident in yourself, and listen to your own opinions. What you have to say is just as important as anything else anyone has to share. Hard work to improve the things you're not good at is another way that can help you feel better about yourself.
Finally always remember your only human, you can't be perfect at everything you do. The process that I have created to help resolve mental and emotional issues consists of two steps. First it is very important to get your emotions out. Expressing your feelings through poetry or drawings are two ways to resolve mental and emotional issues. If you don't feel artistic, try to let your feelings out through other means. Let your anger out on a punching bag or even a basketball court, rather than repressing it.

There are many topics deeply hidden in the works of William Shakespeare. One of his greatest pieces of works is the story of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark. Not only are the words of Shakespeare meaningful, but there are also many follow up pieces of literature that contain important interpretations of the events in this play. These works about Hamlet are extremely beneficial to the reader. I have found four of these works and will use them as sources throughout this essay. The first source is “The Case of Hamlet’s Conscience,” by Catherine Belsey, and it focuses on the topic of Hamlet’s revenge in the play. The second source is “’Never Doubt I Love’: Misreading Hamlet,” by Imtiaz Habib, and it explains a lot of information about Hamlet’s “love” for Ophelia. The third source is “Shakespeare’s Hamlet, III.i.56—88,” by Horst Breuer, and it talks in depth about the issue of suicide in Hamlet. The fourth and final source is “Shakespeare’s Hamlet 1.2.35-38,” by Kathryn Walls, and it describes the significance of the role the Ghost plays throughout Hamlet. There are many different confusing parts in Hamlet and the best way to fully understand the play is to understand all of these parts. By understanding every miniscule detail in the play, it creates a different outlook on the play for the reader. In this essay, I will explain these confusing topics, as well as explain why the sources are helpful and what insight they can bring. The murder of King Hamlet can be seen as where it all began. The selfish decision Claudius makes to murder Hamlet’s father makes him liable for all the other tragedies that occur. The death of King Hamlet causes Hamlet to act out of character, which makes him do things he would not normally do. This leads to the deaths of Polonius and Ophelia. “Thou wreched, rash, intruding fool farewell./I took thee for thy better: Take thy fortune:/ Thou find’st to be too busy is some danger (3.4, 32 - 35) When Polonius gets caught spying on Hamlet talking to his mother, Hamlet takes a sword and stabs through the curtain and kills Polonius in hopes that it was Claudius. Hamlet would never have knowingly killed Polonius. On account of the death of Polonius, this causes Ophelia to act crazy because she misses her father. “Well good dild you! They say the owl was a baker's/ daughter. Lord, we know what we are, but know not/ what we may be. God be at your table!” (4.5, 40 - 42). Ophelia talking crazy was just the beginning of it all. In Conclusion, contrary to the presumption that most people suffer from low self-esteem or feelings of inferiority, it is found that most people exhibit a self-serving bias. Individuals typically rate their selves better than average on subjective, desirable traits and abilities. Some individuals display overconfidence, which can lead to eventual feelings of failure. I have a self-serving bias as well as most everyone else, even though I may not even notice it. So next time you find yourself saying, "I was in a bad mood that day," "A lot of people make that same mistake," or "I can do it better myself," think about what you are saying and maybe you might catch your self serving bias.

There are two theories that describe how interactions shape our self-views. One defines perceptions of the judgments of others called Reflected Appraisal. It is the notion of receiving supportive and nonsupportive messages. It states that positive appreciation and a high level of self-value is gain when supportive messages are received. In contrast, receiving nonsupportive messages leads to feeling less valuable, lovable, and capable. Everyone that you and I interact with influences these self-evaluations. Either from your past or from present –all shapes how you view yourself, especially from our significant others. A person’s self-esteem affects whom he or she chooses to associate with, and how they look at different social groups. This is important because then depending on our level of self-esteem, it essentially tells us how we choose to associate with certain groups and not others, or that we choose to not choose at all. This affects how the population develops relationships with one another. Those who think more highly of themselves (in terms of aspects such as race, socioeconomic status, intelligence, etc.) tend to be very protective of those within their social group, and discriminatory against those who are not, so it is harder as a society to develop relationships unless someone meets certain qualities. This could lead to conflict amongst social groups.
