If I were to choose a past or present Latino/a to spend the day with, I would pick Selena Gomez in a heartbeat. Even though there are plenty of talented Latino/Hispanic celebrities, watching her was the highlight of my childhood because she was who I wanted to identify most with. I saw her as a role model since there was nothing that she couldn’t do. She was a triple threat at just age 15 where she had intrigued me by acting in numerous Disney Channel movies and TV shows. Selena Gomez's many talents like singing, dancing and acting makes me want to spend the day with this Latina, not to mention her generosity and kindness.

In chronological order, Selena was discovered as a teen actor. Her most prominent TV show role would be Wizards of Waverly Place and her main movies which she starred in are Ramona and Beezus, Princes Protection Program, and Another Cinderella Story (Google 1). However, her in real life and her on TV are not that much different at all. Her life is just one big movie that never ends. She is just as generous and adventurous in real life as she is as her characters; "Gomez has granted so many Make-A-Wish requests that the organization gave her a special award... A UNICEF ambassador since 2009, Gomez has held charity concert events as well as traveled extensively around the world raising awareness and funds and promoting involvement" (Billboard 1). Her unchanging personality goes to show that fame has not changed her and she remains humble, which is not an easy thing to say about any person who acquires fame. Most people would let the fame get to them, changing their entirety as a person. Selena Gomez never forgets to give back to the world, kill them with kindness, not violence, and of course, her Latin roots.
