The Second Amendment should be abolished so we can ban guns from the United States. For years, Guns have been the root of all-evil and have been involved in many of the major killings or massacres in the recent years. Guns have killed people over the years a million times during war, civilian casualties, lunatics, murderers, and psychos. There are many reasons why I am against the Second Amendment and think we should abolish the right to bear arms or the Second Amendment. There have been many shootings this past decade from New Haven to Orlando to North Carolina to Charlotte to the Black lives matter movement that all started because of cops using their guns to kill black men. The second amendment states the “Right to Bear Arms” for a Militia but this isn’t 1776 anymore when the United States was first born this is about 250 years in the future and we have to put an end to the guns. It does not happen in other places with this kind of frequency. It is in our power to do something about it.” (CNN, 2015) The NRA stranglehold on the government is part of the problem and say they have magical properties. If the NRAs claims that the efficacy of guns is lowering crime, rates in the US it is not because we would have the lowest homicide rate. The NRA says if we give more guns then we will be and feel safer. According to conservatives from The Guardian, “Tougher gun laws would do nothing to change the behavior of violent criminals (The Guardian, 2016).” In less developed countries then are that have less guns than we do like Honduras, Switzerland, and Israel they have more shootings than we do. The Small arms Survey says we have the highest gun ownership rate that is 88.8 guns per 100 people but it is Bias towards the US because of the smaller countries in it.
