Scuba Diving Scuba diving is a really interesting and exciting activity to do if someone loves the ocean as much as I do. My boyfriend Justus and I traveled to the beautiful Florida Keys for a week and a half last summer. When we got to the keys we had already planned on going scuba diving. We bought our tickets before we even left the state of Indiana. We were both super excited to experience something we had never done before. The morning of our scuba diving trip we had to go meet our scuba diving instructor for him to go over rules. Then we had a break to go eat lunch and rest a little before we went out into the ocean. After our break, we came back to the hotel and prepared to go out on the boat to where we were actually scuba diving. …show more content…

When we got back to the hotel it was time to load up the boat and get ready to head out. Before we actually took off the captain of the boat talked to all of us that were there. He talked to us about to rules of the boat and that if someone went over board to yell it really loud. He also said,” If you feel the need to get sick please try and make it to the side of the boat, also you can bait the fish so we can all see them underwater.” Also, he told us that there was free water and Gatorade on the boat for our convenience if we got thirsty. The boat was a two level boat so there was an upstairs. There was even a bathroom on board. Justus and I climbed the later and went on up to sit on the benches upstairs. We got up to the top level and sat down then the boat finally took off. It was really relaxing being up above with the smell of the fresh Florida air and the wind in my hair. Also with the ocean all around me it was just peaceful. The captain said it would take about fifty minutes to get to the dive spots where we were diving. We went to two different spots to dive. The first one we jumped in the water and went under about 40 feet. When we went down we had to hold on to a rope until we got all the way down. The one thing I didn’t like going down was the pain I had in my ears because all the pressure. When we got down to the bottom we were underwater for about forty-five minutes. On the way back I was feeling a little seasick so I sat on the side of the boat and ate some ice. After a little while of sitting on the side of the boat and eating ice I felt a lot better. I enjoyed sticking my hand down in the water as we were heading back into shore. As we were heading back the sun was starting to go down so there was a nice golden glow on the horizon. My boyfriend brought his go pro hero three so we were taking pictures of ourselves, the beautiful golden orange sunset, and the sparkling blue ocean. We finally got back to the docks to park the boat. Before we got off the boat we got all of our belongings together and thanked our instructor, kirk, for the fantastic job he had done. We departed from the boat and made our way back to the house we were staying. All in all, I really had an outstanding time and enjoyed every minute of my scuba experience. I plan on getting certified at some point at the end of this semester. I am in a scuba diving class here at Vincennes and my instructors told me I can get certified at the end of the class. I will encourage anyone to go scuba diving if they have never done it before to at least experience it. When I have the time and money I will absolutely be doing it again at some point in my
