I've always been fascinated with the paranormal world, In fact many of my relative claim to have witnessed encounters. I understand there are skeptic out there but as for me I'm A believer. After a long day of family oriented activities, at nightfall my family would gather and exchange stories. Each one sharing unique other worldly experience, which taught them a life lesson, frightened them, or just gave them another good story to share. I’ve done extensive research on the paranormal and I have to say it gives a sense of hope and security. I’ve personally have not ever experienced anything that can be defined as paranormal. Conversely, I have observed and studied documented evidence both visual and auditory.
Paranormal designates anything outside of normal or consistent with reality. Throughout years the world has been more and more intrigued by the unexplained .Main stream media has become infiltrated by the paranormal concepts .Shows like Ghost adventures, Ghost hunters, the dead files, and many more have introduce evident eerie occurrences. There have been Many movies and documentaries produced to further explain the phenomenon.. One of the biggest box seller based on a true story although dramatized was the Exorcism of Emily Rose. To many individuals it’s a touchy subject even skeptic have claimed to have an idea of the unexplained events.

Laurancy returned home as herself and never displayed any of the unnerving symptoms again. Despite Laurancy Vennum’s unsettling concurrence, she was able to live a healthy life. This was just the surface of the disturbing events that occurred both between Mary's and Laurancy possession. Thousands of stories containing these exact paranormal incidents are have become a part of popular culture, and folklore. The scientific community supports some of these referenced paranormal activity. We should combined academic materials such as Psychology, and Scientology, to either debunk or corroborate these happenings The accounts that took place with Mary Roff and Laurancy Vennum were told from several academically achieved first hand witnesses. Up until today the question of what really happened in Wateska? remains unanswered.
“We have travelled from Florida to Radford, Virginia on four different occasions to investigate St. Albans,” said Terri. During that time they have experienced a plethora of paranormal activity, including the sounds of disembodied voices, the vision of a full-body apparition, having an investigator slapped by an unseen hand, disembodied growling, and a disappearing door, among others.
As I interviewed Annie Filban about her personal experience with spirits, I found to my judgment that it seemed she based a lot of her belief in her story upon faith. Even though she believed something was in fact out of the norm, and was making peculiar movements and noise in her home, she was still skeptical with some of her statements. Filban responded on different occasions to “I don’t know” and “I guess,” which lead me to believe her belief is not based upon evidence as much as it relies on her faith.
Let 's say that people around the area having been getting sick or strange things have been happening like some people are seeing dancing in the woods. The people go into a panic when something really bad happens to a group of girls, that claim to see spirits of witches tormenting them. People around the area also claim that they are seeing “witch like things” like for example, a woman reading many books, that the person claims that might be the devil bible or spell books. The people of the town then begin put all their faith into those eye witnesses and spectral evidence from the girls. This phenomenon brings a group of judges from a town far away.
Shortly after two girls were “touched by an evil hand,” Elizabeth Hubbard, also began to experience fits linked to witchcraft (Nichols par. 2). Elizabeth lived with her great aunt and uncle due to her parents dying when she was young. Her uncle, Dr. Griggs, had previously diagnosed the
Given the title of this work, you may mistakenly believe (as did at least one prior owner of the book copy I had read from, if their annotations are any indication) that this is a literal investigation into all things paranormal and society’s investment of that which goes bump in the night. In “Ghostly Matters: Hauntings and the Sociological Imagination”, Avery F. Gordon offers academics and ethnographers – those whose profession it is to unearth the secreted relationships between the signifier and the signified, the subject and object, the real and unreal - a disturbing ghost story that should leave those of us in the field who came claim these titles with both the deepest of darkest chills and, through a new method of revealing and acknowledging the ghosts we feel, the hope for something akin to redemption. (In this way, perhaps, Gordon accomplishes many of the same feats as Stephen King and Edgar Allen Poe).
Come with me as I take you inside one of the most haunted locations in the United States today. It is a journey down dark hallways and into rooms painted by both shadow and light where spirits talk and phantoms walk. St. Albans Sanatorium is a destination known by serious paranormal investigators as a place where they can seek answers to the mysteries of what lies beyond death. Some of these investigators were able to find resolutions for themselves to a number of these age old riddles through their experiences at the sanatorium. The frightening and true stories found within the pages of this book are about these inquisitive investigators’ encounters with The Ghosts of St. Albans Sanatorium.
Often, the story of “Bloody Mary” is the first story of supernatural form that is told to many individuals as young children. When I was in 3rd grade, a group of friends and I got together to have a sleepover; naturally, we all went to my friend’s basement and started telling scary stories. One of my friends told me that if I went into the bathroom without any lights and said “Bloody Mary” three times in front of a mirror, a bloody figure would appear.
between living organisms and their external environment that seem that seemed to transcend the known physical laws of nature (The Rhine, 2013). According to (Nichols, 2011) parapsychology was studied over 100 years and in that time amassed thousands of cases studies and formal experiments in order to better understand these non-ordinary realms. In the study of paranormal activity, they have been studying them in lavatories. When studying parapsychology, people try to get an understanding and hope to get their questions answered about the phenomena aspects of these subjects. Scientist who study paranormal activities are trying to discover why these events occur. Parapsychology came about in the 1930s. When in a paranormal situation it is weird and scary and sometimes unbelievable.
aranormal activity has been a cause of fear and excitement throughout history. The unknown attracts the curiosity from those who wonder whether the supernatural is real or a figment of the imagination. Ghosts are one of the supernatural beings whose existence is questioned every day. Many want to deny the existence of ghosts because they are terrified of other phantoms who may exist and ignore the evidence that has been brought forth throughout the years. However, ghosts are supernatural pheromones whose existence still impacts today’s society.
Before that night, I didn’t believe in the paranormal. Now I sure as heck do. I had been chased out of my house after a fight with my step-parents because I wasn’t doing well in school (I had dyslexia), and I had taken shelter in what seemed like a normal house. I realized what I had gotten into after the sun set. The doors were locked without a sign of anyone going near them.
Incidents of Humanity that cannot solve events using logic and scientific reasoning always turn towards the supernatural for an explanation. Yet when looking at the supernatural reasoning you dwell into reasons that always give an answer to the unknown. This is seen today when someone passes away or objects move from one point to another that defies the laws of science that humanity has grown a custom too. When looking at the supernatural you have a range of beliefs that vary from ghosts to demons. Every culture and religion has there own views on how to interact with the supernatural.
The Nelly Butler hauntings is referred to as the first recorded ghost story in American history (LiBrizzi 5), and possibly the most exciting hauntings to date as there are still many unsolved mysteries. The apparition appeared on more than 30 separate occasions to over 100 witnesses in Sullivan, Maine, just over fifteen years after the American Revolution (5-6). Although the Nelly Butler apparition is one of the most convincing ghosts of all time, it was subject to suspicions of fraud. These claims turn out to be groundless as the evidence reveals the ghost to be genuine.

In today’s rational and scientifically explainable world, it would be hard for us to believe in supernatural intervention in our every day lives unlike during the times of the Shakespearean plays. In Shakespeare’s Macbeth, there are three examples of this kind of thing: one with the witches, one with a ghost of a best friend, and one with the a few apparitions.
Whether we choose to believe in the paranormal or not, we all have to realize that. There are many strange things that happen to all of us that are unexplainable. The history of paranormal existence has been around since the beginning of time. The paranormal is not what most people believe it is, “ghosts”.
