To say that education isn 't an important asset in our society today would be fallacious. It would bring the thought to mind that education is just something that we use because we are forced into it. From a very young age we are drilled into our heads that we will get nowhere in life without first getting the proper education that we need and choosing a career path that will lead us into successfully supporting a family for the rest of our lives. The way we are brought into education as young children into adults can be both a gift and a curse. For life, education can either bring us to persons we want to be, or make us these type of zombies who live in this virtual reality of unhappiness. As humans, we grow accustomed to the things we do in life, we go to school at young age, as we grow, we get into college, get a good corporate job and eventually get married and have a family. It becomes this boring routine of doing it over and over again. Even Nietzsche explains that “ men are even lazier than they are fearful, and fear most of all the burdensome nuisance of absolute honesty …show more content…
How can we truly know ourselves? This argument that both Schopenhauer and Nietzsche present is that as a society we’ve grown accustomed to this laziness and distraught of learning through just reading and reading and not truly learning anything throughout the process. We grow in this routine, losing ourselves. Nietzsche states that “ His strength lies in forgetting himself; and if he does think of himself and his lofty goal and seems to see behind and beneath him only an insignificant heap of dross.” In this realization we see that what really made us happy in the past now seems to late to accomplish, it is a goal that at one time seemed to be what we truly wanted to do. It was a goal that defined who we truly were on the inside rather than what was put into our minds from the beginning of our
... constructs we built for ourselves; we have become the children and we make toys for ourselves that condition in a vicious cycle of pathetic stagnation. Find your Campbell Soup Cans, your reclusive pond, your place in a family that stands out... and you will have found yourself.
In order to understand Schopenhauer’s philosophy, one must understand the concept of the will. Schopenhauer seems to describe the will as a blind force of our feelings, our thoughts, and our perception. The only way we see the world is through the will. We are limited because we only see our representation of it through the will, not the actual reality, the thing in of itself. For this reason the world is will, our will, and it has desires. These desires are insatiable, so life becomes defined by suffering. Suffering, however, is only our representation. The world in of itself, aside from our representation, has no suffering. Schopenhauer says the only way to escape the will, which is suffering, is through knowledge and art. There is a distinction between ordinary knowledge and pure knowledge, however. Ordinary knowledge, according to Schopenhauer, was a result of the will. Pure knowledge is actual contemplation of the world in of itself without influence from the will. This can only be attained through art that is able to separate us from our perceptions of reality and reach a state of pure knowledge. In the Birth of Tragedy, Nietzsche responds to this by agreeing with Schopenhauer’s philosophy in that art is the way to avoid suffering. He argues that the art capable of ending suffering is tragedy, which is a fusion of the Apollonian and the Dionysian.
I believe education is a crucial aspect in everyone's life. Lacking an education essentially give you no way to better your life, it also leads to a cycle of poverty for you as well as your family. Your families education leads to the money they have to pay for your education. Your education leads to the job you will hold which leads to the money you will make which determines the life
Education opens up the door to a world that may seem impossible. Education is important because it lets people see the world differently, teaches you how to think, and education opens the door for opportunities.
Education has played an important role in my life by giving me the opportunity to learn and acquire new skills that can be applied to social situations. In my opinion, education has become important in society because more students decide to continue pursuing a higher education after completing high school. Higher education opens the gates of success to those who complete a college degree and technical school education. Those who pursue a higher education or attend a technical school believe that pursuing an education can provide them with more opportunities for growth and career success.
Too often, we become too caught up in our everyday mundane routines that we forget, or perhaps, never truly see what our purpose is. We forget what truly motivates us to live and what truly drives us to reach a greater goal. Oscar Wilde once said, “To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.” As I look at the people around me, I see ones who furnish their goals with intents of gaining wealth, success, or recognition. However, are they truly happy? How many times have you actually sat down and asked yourself, “why do I do what I do?”.
Everybody is different and learn in many different ways as they grow up or the environment they are grown into. I believe education is important for everyone in this world. Not only will a good education will get you a good job, but also very good manners and having respect for others. Learning a good education all depends on the person and the person teaching it. Education to me is hard to explain and hard to even come up with a study method, but that’s just me. We all have our own way in studying and preparing when it comes to a big test. Finding a good study method to be easy is very hard to come up with. Everyone question’s on how we need to educate our youth or how it can easily be done. Before kids go to an actual school,
Nietzsche has the reputation of being a pessimistic author, what his adepts call realism, because he does not say that happiness does not exist, rather does he explains that it is ephemeral and sudden. His idea of human nature can be summed up with the concept of ‘will to power’, that is a force of domination which all men have in themselves and which pushes them to act. What happiness is for Nietzsche is the satisfaction of this domination instinct. He wrote : « What is happiness?—The feeling that power increases—that resistance is overcome. Not contentment, but more power; not peace at any price, but war; not virtue, but efficiency », showing that happiness is a social matter, to the extent that it concerns one’s relation to others. There is something to be understood in Nietzsche’s view of happiness : the fact that it is internal to the human’s nature, and that if it is available to all, only those who embrace their dominant nature can
Higher levels of educational attainment tend to be associated with higher wages (Aliprantis, 2011). In this standard world that we live in, education plays a vital role when it comes to better employment. When we say vital roles, what we mean is by how we get to achieve our goals in terms of both short term and long term. Education affects so many aspects of our live, more than we give it credit for. Aspects such as, family which is the basic foundation of every person. Education is the key to our future.
Education is very important in the sense that in today’s society, there is not much success without education. Education allows us to grow and learn intellectually. It gives us the ability to enhance our perception of the world as we see it, and construct our own views of that perception into our core values. Just try and imagine a world without education.
Education is considered central for a good life that all of us strive to achieve and this is possible only when we realise the value of education and acquire knowledge through some procedures like learning because education cannot happen on its own and whatever learning we do it must help us acquire knowledge that is worthwhile and desirable. The process must enable a person to be able to reform oneself for the better and it must not be just a tool or means of getting a job but must be valuable in itself .If we believe that education implies value then it is not necessary that value should imply for education because not everything we value is education like we may value spending time with our families or learning music which is not education
Many people spend their whole lives searching for happiness and a sense of purpose. Some find it, others go round and round indulging in countless other ventures that only lead to failed attempts at finding it. For example, some might indulge in materialistic things to try to portray a false image of themselves. And others might indulge in social media or a career, and for others it might be more detrimental like alcohol or drugs. Nonetheless, these attempts to find value and meaning in one’s life only end up throwing one off course from achieving it. Eudora Welty in both “A Worn Path” and “Artists on Criticism of Their Art: Is Phoenix Jackson’s Grandson Really Dead?” attempts to encourage the reader to live their life's purpose through an
Education is essential for everyone. Education plays a critical role in the development of a generation of individuals that is virtuous and in turn contributes to the development of good people. Through education, a person is able to develop mentally, but also physically and socially. To the youths, education is important as it helps them to develop the principles of life, enables them to make the correct career decisions and also prepares them in the pursuit of the goals that they may have set for themselves in life. I strongly believe that a good, heck, or even a regular education is a right that cannot be taken away. Education is a right and not a privilege.
Education is as important as the air we breathe. It is the most important possession a person must have. Education is beneficial in many aspect of life especially, personal and social it is the only possession that cannot be taken away from you. Education is important because it will open up the windows of opportunities. In this competitive world having a good education is as important as the air we breathe because it is our weapon to conquer the world.
Education is a vital part of society. It serves the beneficial purpose of educating our children and getting them ready to be productive adults in today's society. But, the social institution of education is not without its problems. Continual efforts to modify and improve the system need to be made, if we are to reap the highest benefits that education has to offer to our children and our society as a whole.
