Has the society ever made you wonder why the schools have a dress code and not uniforms? The high school that I currently attend has numerous problems dealing with the dress code because some students decide not to acknowledge it. Teachers have to take some time out of their teaching time to send the students to the office for dressing inappropriately. Even though there have been various problems associated with the dress code policy, schools still enforce the policy. Society has taught people that they should be themselves and express their individuality. There are many people out there who think everyone should act and be the same because people get judged if they act or dress differently. Everyone is their own person and no one should have to conform to everyone else in society. The debate over whether or not uniforms should be required has been going on for years. Many schools have decided it is best to have uniforms when, in all honesty, uniforms make no difference in academic success or behavior of students. Just because someone wears a uniform does not make them any smarter of behave in a better manner. School uniforms should not be required, not only because they do not let students express themselves, but also they cost families more money and do not affect what goes on at school.
It is a great idea for schools to implement a policy on school uniforms because statistics show that students who wear uniforms make better grades, the male students are not going to be distracted by what the female students are (or aren't) wearing, and students feel a sense of fairness with one another as they are all wearing the same things and when students are at one with one another their confidence soars, which leads to doing better at school. Student uniforms helps with reducing the amount of bullying therefore the students who would normally be bullied now have a much better disposition while at school, which will lead to a healthier safer learning environment. When students feel less threatened at school, they can concentrate better which leads to better grades. The schools which have an enforced uniform policy have properly dressed students. When teenage girls, want to impress teenage boys dress inappropriately it causes a lot of distractions and trouble. The girls are also envious of on one another so unrest is caused in the classroom throughout the day, not only with the boys who are looking at the girls, but also at the girls who are jealous of the ones getting the attention.
Many public schools are requiring students to wear uniform to help deplete bullying. With that said many students have either been victimized do to bullying or bullied victims in the past. Bullying happens almost every day whether in one’s own neighborhood, a local park and or at school. Children fine many things to bully others about; such as fashion, gang affiliations, school spirit. Therefore, the debate over uniforms and dress codes is long going and also familiar Kizis, S. (2000, 09). Schools then experimented with an option for uniforms to see if any changes in behavior will evolve. Moreover some education facilities find that a supplement solution that helps eliminate some aspects of bullying is an implication of school uniforms.

They should also be able to share their personalities with their classmates and family members. ” (should kids). Some students can’t express themselves with art or music so, there way is through clothing like: buttons, band t-shirts, etc. In private schools it would be easier to enforce since there parents are paying extra for a better education. Public schools on the other hand would be a lot harder to enforce especially because some students don’t like school. Which if uniforms were enforced would make students hate school even more.

Some kids become stressed out and could get depressed because they cannot choose what they can wear, In Our own country? The land of the free and the home of the brave and we can’t even choose what we wear? The effect would be: students becoming angry and violent, and worst case scenario, suicide.
