I will be talking about school uniforms on how they could be good and how they could be bad. One of my reasons are School districts don’t allow kids to show what their true personalities are. My second reason is If the schools don’t aloud kids to pick their own clothes the kids will not be ready to pick out their own clothes when they are adults.
Kids should not wear school uniforms. On greatschools.org it states that Make students a target for bullies from other schools. This is important because it shows that kids from other school could be making fun of the students that wear uniforms because they don’t have to wear them.
This is also important because it proves that even though your wearing uniforms you can still get bullied by

On eduguide.org it states that uniforms do not allow students to develop their identity. This is important because the students will never really know who they are. This is also important because the students won’t know what kinds of clothes its their personality. This is also important because the students won’t know what kinds of clothes is their personality. This is important because it doesn’t prepare the students on what's right or not the right way to dress. This is also important because the students will always be used to wearing uniforms and not regular clothes. Do uniforms really change anything?
School uniforms could be good? on procon.org written by the National Association of Elementary School Principals states that When all students are dressed alike, competition between students over clothing choices and the teasing of those who are dressed in less expensive or less fashionable outfits can be eliminated. This is important because there is not as much violence as when kids pick out their own clothes. This is also important because it shows that uniforms do change bullying.
On procon.org written by Peter Caruso states that A 2010 University of Houston study found that elementary school girls' language test scores increased by about three percentile points after uniforms were introduced. This is important because it proves that school uniforms help students learn better.
This is also important because it shows that uniforms helped the students concentrate on their
It is a great idea for schools to implement a policy on school uniforms because statistics show that students who wear uniforms make better grades. Additionally, male students are not distracted by what female students are (or aren't) wearing. Moreover, students feel a sense of fairness with one another as they are all wearing the same things. When students are at one with one another, their confidence soars, which leads to better academic performance. Student uniforms help reduce the amount of bullying, and students who would normally be bullied now have a much better disposition while at school.
School uniforms positively affects public schools because it is for the benefits of the stu-dents' lives as well as those who play a major role in their lives. It will also make the school look more professional by having the students' behavior reflect from the uniform, which are stable. Having uniforms has a positive impact on society because of academic achievements, no judg-ments, and is a time-savior. Guaranteeing that having school uniforms will save a lot of time get-ting ready for school. Not only are the students not being able to make a decision about the dress code, but also the school administrators.
... students in various ways, such as to learn how to ‘cooperate’ with their friends and work out the problem.” (Mr. Knight). Uniforms are not just for schools it's also for jobs or teams you play on, so you just have to sit down and think about how school uniforms can change and the rest of your priors for the good or better, uniforms can make your school a safe place, bully and gang violence free zone. Even the statistics show schools that have uniforms have a decrease bullying, gang violence and other crimes. Putnam City Schools should adopt school uniforms next year.
Children tend to break off into "cliques," and uniforms could possibly help unite students. Finding creative ways to express their individuality through other outlets other than fashion can help children forge friendships based on their common interests. In conclusion, I feel that school uniforms are something all schools should consider implementing in their policy. All of these points show that they could be budget-friendly, help children focus, and lower the barriers children can build up because of merely what they are wearing.
A major reason that schools should have uniforms is because students will get along better. They wouldn’t compare each other based on whose wearing what. This is opposed to a school with no uniform some students will feel inferior to the one’s wearing brand name clothes. Also uniforms lower the chances of jealousy between the students. The students would feel more unified with each other. Further more school uniforms can alleviate school violence, because it will help kids with less money escape the teasing they would get if the school had no uniforms. Also uniforms will help differentiate students from gan...
School uniforms are a way for principals to know who belongs on campus and who does not. A while back, researchers studied that the reason certain school require students to wear school uniforms is because they feel that it will help stop other students from bulling one another, just because they don’t have on high priced shoes or clothing it shouldn 't stop them from doing what they do best. "The good thing is people judge you on your inner characteristics rather than what you wear," said Nick Duran, an 8th grader and the student-body president at Rogers Middle School (Portner)." Safety is they key, when students enter the school ground, they should feel safe and not think that someone is going to harm them. Students feel as if they have to wear school uniforms it will
One of the first cons of wearing school uniforms is that kids lose their freedom of expression. Self-expression is important for kids to have. If kids aren’t expressing themselves through clothing they will in other routes, such as the wearing of makeup, the use of jewelry, tattooing and piercing. Wearing uniforms stop kids from being unique, having their own individuality. Uniforms detract from a child’s individuality by forcing them all the wear the same clothes.
School uniforms are a great idea, but there are some people who disagree. Skeptics feel that school uniforms hide students from individuality. Yes, the constitution gives everyone the right to freedom to express themselves, but it does not specifically give freedom to wear whatever you want. There are many other ways for students to express themselves. Many schools offer extracurricular activities, such as art and dance. These are also ways for students to express themselves. When students are not spending all of their time concentrating on how they dress, they will have more time to truly understand who they are. Uniforms are not always negative.
School uniforms have positive effects like rising attendance records, improved grades, and decreased behavioral problems. Since 1994, school systems in Long Beach, California have required school uniforms. Attendance rates have been rising and fighting has dropped by more than half. Crime and suspensions declined by approximately one third. School uniforms reduce the wearing of gang-related clothes and helps some students concentrate more on academics instead of on clothes, which in turn, increases grades.
Uniforms in public schools are becoming accepted throughout the world. The public school systems would benefit significantly if this policy were to be accepted. Wearing uniforms in public schools result in positive effects.
Students are distracted by the variety of clothing they choose to wear it takes away from them gaining inner knowledge. Students choose to wear fancy, strange, or bright colorful clothes. Students become more interested in paying attention to what other students are wearing and what they have instead of focusing on the subject they are being taught in class. Students should be focusing on gaining new knowledge and skills. Wearing uniforms would teach students how to focus on their personalities, inner beauty, rather than their
(“Quotes about Uniform Policy” 1). Theodore R. Mitchell, UCLA School of Education says, "I think its great news for all of us who have advocated school uniforms as a way of building community.” A pressing issue, bullying has become a big problem in many school, and to eliminate this problem, school policies should require students to wear uniforms. Many people believe that school uniforms build the community into a safer, more positive environment. School uniforms improve school academics, prevent gang violence, and assist families, who can not afford expensive clothing.
36% of parents agreed to this question, and 0% of teachers agreed. Teachers believe that uniforms help improve student’s punctuality and that it could also help improve professionalism and helps enhance a student’s image. They also believe that it could help their maturity level as they
With uniforms, it may restrict the desire for students to dress themselves to impress or stand out. Wearing something they are comfortable with and what they love may increase their confidence level and not curb their creativity. Sometimes when students had to obey the rules and regulations, they might feel locked up inside as they cannot really express themselves. This case can lead to several discipline cases as a student can act aggressively since they think the need to wear uniforms will cut off their
Some regard that school uniforms influence the way students analyze problems, understand work, and dedicate themselves to situations. However, a simple alteration in clothing does not determine or change the frame of mind, but rather it is the character of that individual that helps to produce the
