School Uniforms
A study appearing in Psychology Today reported a crime drop of 91%, school suspensions dropping 90%, sex offenses reducing by 96%, and acts of vandalism down 69% all because of adopting school uniforms in Long Beach, CA (Glazener). It seems like almost every school problem could be fixed with the simple change to school uniforms. Children would be able to start off on the right foot in life. The struggles that a kid faces everyday could be lessened tenfold. School uniforms should be enforced because they provide a better learning atmosphere, get rid of inappropriate clothing, and provide less social pressure on kids and parents.
Now some might say that school uniforms don’t actually boost academic scores, but that doesn’t mean that the children don’t need better learning atmospheres. When they have better places to learn in, their overall performance is increased.
