Rumors are spread all over the internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Paparazzi is always following celebrity, taking everything they do way out of proportion like going to a doctor because of a cold, paparazzi will make it sound like they went because they have HIV. A lot of things on the internet are complete lies, but there are very few reliable sources. The media spreading these lies about Trump and woman coming out saying he groped them are completely way out of proportion and they should as media outlets be ashamed of themselves. I think most if not all “rumors” spread on social media are lies unless given facts. Nowadays, you can’t just go say something on the internet and have the majority of people believe you because of how corrupted our brains are to false media. You can’t just say a program is going to shut down to the world just because you may not like it, and that causes a media uproar. And you almost never can trust the paparazzi anymore. I think social media is in fact hindering our lives today. I think people only have social media so that when they are bored, they can go on their phone and be occupied with social media. Social media should be just about getting to see what your friends are up to and what they are doing with their lives, not to see these mostly false media …show more content…

Now instead of texting, every single social media application has some sort of texting on there to text your friends or even try to let famous/popular people respond to you. You don’t even need to use normal texting anymore I mean why would you pay for texting, when you can just use Instagram direct messaging for example to text. The other big way is to get huge stories out there and to communicate to people news around the world. If something tragic happens overseas or The Cubs win The World Series, social media is used in this way to communicate to people news around the world happening that you may not know
