For my mission statement essay, I chose Krusinski Construction Company out of IL. I chose them because their mission statement seemed intriguing and it is an industry that I am familiar with. Comparing their mission statement with what I have read this week about what a quality mission statement is supposed to accomplish has been interesting. What I have found is that this company’s profile in the public has both been in alignment with their mission statement and omitted some things, which seems like a missed opportunity for them.
From what I have learned as a company operates is day to day business, it is supposed to be in line with its mission statement, its core values, and its bottom line. This leaves me the question does the business model or the mission statement come first? I have not found that yet in anything we have read.
Take the Krusinski Construction Company for example they start simply by stating:
“Krusinski Construction Company is a leader in providing value-added construction services to our customers by creating a successful partnership with them throughout the construction process.”
What does that exactly mean? One of the terms used within the statement is “value-added construction services”

Check. Krusinski has mostly addressed thru their website how they will be in line with the mission statement they have published.
This paper was fun to write and really break down to the core of what a company was trying to communicate, and what they are trying to accomplish in the actual workday. Reading other companies mission statements, I feel like this one was a pretty good example of what one should be. Others for example were pretty vague or excruciatingly specific about what it is they do. Like some mission statements read like some kind of manifesto that no one thinks are interesting. In my opinion the best mission statement examples I read were less than five
A mission statement express the core purpose of an organization and its reason for existence. Mission statements are vital to an organization because they communicate and set the foundation of the purpose of their existence. They shape the attitudes and behaviors of the members of the organization and the perceptions of the public (Hess, 67).
An article discussing the importance of a mission statement states that a mission statements’ job is to outline the organization’s unique purpose and establish the basis of its values and traits, as well as describe the attitude that is to be expected of those a part of the organization. Furthermore, this philosophical foundation sets the “tone” for physical actions, meaning that the content of the mission statement can determine the behavior of personnel (Hitt & Ireland, 1992).
A mission statement should define the organization, why they exist, who they are serving, and what products and services they offer (Aguinis, 2013). Aguinis (2013) includes eight components for a good mission statement. These components are products or services offered, customers being served, benefits to their products or services, technology being used, growth and profitability, managerial philosophy, public image, and self-concept of business by the employees and stockholders (Aguisis, 2013).
Our Vision is to become one of the preferred choices of players in the construction industry
A mission statement is a powerful message that companies or organizations set to be the focus and reason behind why or how they manage things. They are used to help their potential members, employees, or buyers understand their passion. It is of great importance that the mission statement is upheld or it becomes ineffective. These statements are written differently, but they are used for the common objective. The mission statement at Spring Hill College is a well written statement that uses effective style, has a clear focus, and can be interpreted by a varying audience.
The first chapter in this book explains a business’ mission and values. When discussing the mission, Welch states that in order to create an effective mission statement, one must explain how they intend to win in that particular business. The key is profitability, “Delineate their strengths and weaknesses in order to assess when they can profitably play in the competitive landscape,” (Welch, 15). This means to define the business’ strong and weak points to evaluate where they can efficiently and profitably fit within that specific business sector’s scheme. In order to come up with the mission, one can receive input from any source, but one should especially listen to the intelligent ones from all of the different sectors. Although, it is the responsibility of the top management or whoever is held responsible for it, to put it in place, it is their “defining moment,” (Welch, 17). The mission is what a business plans to do to win and values are ...

Mission, Vision, and Values Paper. Introduction I am considering the company I work for Lockheed Martin to develop a modified strategic plan that will focus on responding to the United States government's and Department of Defense's (DoD) new "Network Centricâ initiatives. Lockheed Martin's Corp. is a publicly traded private corporation that provides high technology products and services to the United States government, DoD, and other international governments. Lockheed Martin is the largest defense contractor in the US with a branding statement "Our brand means qualityâ and a company slogan of "We never forget who we work forâ.
This Company made their mission statement in 2012 and according to me this mission and vision statement is good but these need loads of changes as I have read in this course mission statement should be:-
For my analysis, I chose to write about Starbucks Coffee Company and its mission statement. Starbucks’ mission statement reads, “To inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time.” We all know that Starbucks has enjoyed a huge amount of growth over the past 10+ years, and it is clear that they are seeing that success because they are putting their mission into action. Reading the mission statement, it’s easy to identify Starbucks’ areas of focus: the human spirit, coffee, and community. The company’s “About Us” web pages align with its mission statement.
The mission statement is a condensed version of the firm’s strategic plan (Brigham & Houston, 2013). In a nutshell, the mission statement should provide a clear vision of the purpose of the business. A company’s mission statement can be likened to a lighthouse, or in today’s terms, to a GPS. It is a precise statement, containing pinpoint clear direction and focus of what the firm does, how the firm does it, who it is done for, and the values they stand by (Brigham & Houston, 2013). If any employees, or the company as a whole, lose track of their goals, their direction, or sense of purpose, the mission statement helps remind them and get them back on track.
Mission and Vision Statements The mission statement of JPMorgan Chase & Co is “to be the best financial services company in the world” ("JPMorgan," 2013). According to its website, it states, “At JPMorgan Chase & Co, we want to be the best financial services company in the world. Because of our great heritage and excellent platform, we believe this is within our reach” is the company’s vision statement ("JPMorgan," 2013). This vision statement effectively communicates JPMorgan Chase & Co values, purpose, identity, and primary business goals.
The mission statement for Harley Davidson is shorter than one might expect based on the components that are contained within an ideal mission statement. The breakdown of the eight characteristics of an ideal mission statement is fairly comprehensive despite the brevity of the statement. Although as will be discussed there is room for improvement in addressing all the components of an ideal mission statement. Aguinis (2013) points out that at times vision and mission statements can blend together; this is evidently the case with Harley Davidson as well as will be discussed.
The mission statement of the company was “As we grow as a company, it has become more and more important to explicitly define the core values from which we develop our culture, our bran...
